I have a modem. I have a router.

I have a port I want to forward.

The port I want to forward, isn't forwarding, even when I fill in the port forwarding field of my router and modem. I wish to remedy that.

My router is a Siemens SpeedStream 4200.

My Router is a Linksys Wireless WRT54GS.

Any help would be... well... helpful.

Sidenote: For some reason, I can't access my Modem's settings page thing. I'm trying to get this figured out now.

check to make sure you're inputting the correct ip address in your I.E. or firefox or whatever the hell you're using.

as for making it foreward, make sure you're the only one on the router and then make sure it's forewarding to the right internal IP, because on a dynamic setup, the computer grabs a new internal IP every time it's turned on. Set the port to foreward to the first IP that will be released (in the router settings) and ensure that the ocmputer you are trying to foreward to is the first one on the network unless you wanna set to a static IP (which is not reccomended).

Alright, that worked.

I never set it to the right ip address, was the problem. But, I know how to find it now, so all's well.

This thread is now moot to me. Lock/delete/sticky/do whatever you usually do in these situations.
