Well In my opinion, I have been seeing insanely large breasts becoming less common. Maybe its just me, I like breasts and all but I doubt DD is common on 15 year old japanese girls. Ya want one or two, ok, but it shouldn't be the norm.

Maybe we're just getting inured to the large than life sizes and thus they stick out less when the pop up. This would also explain the gradual increase in maximum size as well as things like Grenadier. Though it could finally be a trend toward a more realistic portrayal of their worlds which would help with that whole suspension of disbelief. I mean Elves and gnomes are one thing but gravity defying "endowments" just stretch believability to far. They are the proverbial straw the broke the Anime Girls' back. (Ok I think I have all my double entendres and innuendo out.)

Oh Grenadier, how wonderful the breasts are in it. I myself am not partial to one size or another, as long as they don't exceed - at most - half the size of the torso. For me really, it's not so much the size of the boobs themselves as it is the size of the nipples. Big ones are scary. Like giant saucers. Or maybe wine glasses if you put them on their sides.

For the topic at hand, I find breasts in anime not just unrealistic, not just unnecessary, but generally impossible to achieve in a real-world sense.

But then, I've never (and never will) gone to anime for anything regarding realism. Laws of physics are broken constantly in anime, why should breast bouncing be any different in the genre?

I personally just wish the Japanese didn't put big knockers on the younger kids. I mean, the cast of Bleach is apparently around the age of 15, and all of the girls could at least pass for 20. Even the more moderately chested ones....

And that goes for almost all Japanese anime, I think I've run into a anime that had a 7 year old girl, with a much too large chest.

Nah, most of the girls in bleach have normal looking sizes it's just maybe 3 I can think of with extremely large boobs.

I could be wrong, but aren't breat implants becoming more common? Maybe we notice enormous breasts less, simply because we're used to seeing bigger ones more often than normal. I know we probably don't see enough breast implants in real life to account for this, but in hollywood, porn, etc. it might make up for a change in perception.

actually...it's just simply common of anime girls to (1) have large breasts despite their age, (2) behave and move in ways that 'display' their bust, and (3) have most of the male cast not care that her breasts are that huge.

It spawns from the artists 'fantasies' - so to speak - where they assert that a cutely drawn girl needs to have a sexual quality and is thus given a sized bust. It's no accident that they do bounce a lot, but it's not that Japanese men are horny and perverted (only 85% of them), it's that they want their girls to be appealing.
Vice real Japanese girls who have an average of a B-cup, occasionally a C or D-cup but they're VERY rare.
