Oh.
The success of DreamWorks/Paramount’s $311 million-grossing “Transformers” has other studios looking to assemble a giant robot movie of their own. Last month, Regency picked up 1980s Japanese anime series “Voltron,” with Mark Gordon attached to produce. Ironically, Warners had the first giant robot movie back in 1999: Brad Bird’s animated feature “The Iron Giant.”
I wonder how this will be received by the guys at WETA. They are, supposedly, working on a live action version of Evangelion. Seems like we'll have plenty of giant robot movies in the future.

I cannot stand the creation of a live action Robotech series because it's a tragically reformed version of Macross.

It's all coming full circle! Jetfire is going to be in Transformers 2!

Sorry to say, I can't see Toby playing Rick Hunter, Scott Benard, that fat guy, or Rick's brother (who's name eludes me).
And Global? Eh, no...
Maybe one of the goofy Zentradi trio that sneaks on board the SDF & brings back the convention-type swag. But are they considered main cast?

That might actually work, half of what made EVA take off so much was that Japan was so inundated with regular mecha anime that when EVA came along threw it to ground beat it senseless with nihilist philosophy books while crying to it's mother then masturbated over Japan's unconscious body, Japan really didn't see it coming. And I doubt Hollywood will either.
