Internet Lag

Boy, do I love lag - having my internet connection slow down to almost nill - or to have it gone completely... but for those of us who aren't enamored by lag, does anyone know any tips or tricks in order to cut down on this problem?

There's no programs running in the background, nothing using the internet but RaiRO, and I'm getting horrible, horrible lag. I've tried using programs like EndItAll, which was recommended to me some time ago, but that's a pay to use program.

Run a Hijack This scan and post it, someone can look and tell you if in fact you have no meanies about. Also are you making proper use of port forwarding, etc.?

Look up your router and a tutorial on port forwarding... Or ask any resident RaiRo user.

Try running a traceroute to the IPs that are giving you the most lag.

Start > Run > type in cmd and click ok > type in tracert <Insert IP here> > post a screenshot of the results here.

Ok, now do that again, but instead of your ISP's IP, which is only the first step of many, try doing using the RaiRo server's IP.
