Here's what I came across in the TV listings a few days back:

2001, A Space Odyssey: Two astronauts have trouble with thier computer on the way to Jupiter.

The pure bathos of this greatly amused me.
Anyone seen something similar or can create similarly amusing summaries?

Superbad (spoilers): 2 guys learn that alcohol is not the way to a meaningful relationship. 1 guy learns it is.

300: Persia wants to control the world. Sparta is part of the world. Sparta beats Persia like rock beats scissors, until Persia cheats. Sparta wins round 2 though.

Borat: A man pretending to be foreign teaches America to hate itself.

From above quoted site I particularly like:
Chariots of Fire:
Ben Cross
I want to win.
Ian Charleson
I want to win.
(They win.)
and Rocky series:

(Rocky LOSES a fight, and an injury prevents him from ever fighting again. Then Rocky WINS a fight, and an injury prevents him from ever fighting again. Then Rocky LOSES a fight. Then Rocky WINS a fight. Then Rocky WINS a fight, and an injury prevents him from ever fighting again. Then Rocky beats up some kids on the street.)

And a classic:
Dr Strangelove:
Oops.

I liked the Prince Of Persia videogame timeline:

The first game never happened.
The second game made sure the first game never happened.
The third game happened because the first two never happened.

Inspired by Rinkworks, some anime-a-minute (http://www.illlogic.net/anime-a-minute/) summaries got a few chuckles from me back when I saw them. It took me a while to find that site again, until I recalled the phrase "naked lesbian street luge." Oh, ho, I linked to this before (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=3252). How unoriginal of me.

I see you and raise you as follows:

Sands of Time: Being greedy is childish.
Warrior Within: Trying to escape inevitable death is childish.
The Two Thrones: If you have the power to alter time itself, doing so to fix your fuckups is childish.
