I just love 8-bit Theatre, so I decided to do my own comic. I normally use PowerPoint to do my comics, but once I heard my dad had Photoshop, I went for it straight away. Now I have Photoshop and am 100% clueless of how I'm supposed to use it. So, does anyone know any tutorials (especially on comics like 8-bit theatre)?

You should learn how to use photoshop as a program before you even start trying to use it to make a comic that is even halfway presentable. A descent comic requires a certain level of expertise that you just can't have right out of the gate. I suggest www.good-tutorials.com to learn photoshop. Start doing tutorials and keep doing them. At first you will simply be following directions, but you are learning how the program works and how people use it. Soon, you will be able to look at an image and know how to do it without the tutorial.

Learn the program before you even think about making comics. It will make things easier and will make the final product better.

I'd also work on finding a place to host the comics. Finding a good host, and places to advertise is key to getting people to notice your comics.

I'm sure Nikose would take it on Parker Comics if you make it good.

My suggestion? Take a few courses at a college for Photoshop. It covers the basics like the Clone Stamp, Layers/Masks, and Brushes, is totally worth the time, and I'm sure that teaching you through classes is much easier than over the 'net. If you have any specific questions once you've learned the basics, I'm sure someone like myself or Meister or any of the other Photoshop techies can tell you.

I get volunteered for every god damned comic that shows up on the damned internet.

Yes, if you don't suck, and I can read it and I break a grin at a comic, I'll host it for you. But that means if I say I don't break a grin, and I don't like it, you take it with a grain of salt and don't get pissy.

Anyway:

http://getpaint.net

It's like the middle ground between Paint and Photoshop and it's free. I can make whole comics in that, since it has layers and makes life very easy.

Nope. Just on NPF. And hey, I even said "if it's good."

Also: I forget if you mentioned if it was a sprite comic or not, but if it isn't, you can apply for a space on Comic Genesis. Aside from the self-programming you have to do to get the comic up and running, it's free, and they're pretty awesome until you can get your own site. And they even allow Project Wonderful Advertising.
