Al Bundy having a walk-on cameo in Deliverance really threw me off when I went to go see it again.

I also was watching the MST3k episode, like, 800 something, which was Hobgoblins. The surly hairy bartender 'Roadrash' somehow looked familiar. Then, holy shit, I realized it. He was Maynard in Pulp Fiction!

What he was doing in this piece of trash I have no idea.

And, as a warning: Nobody gets to mention Raul Julia's appearance in Street Fighter. Nobody gets to mention Chuck Norris in Dodgeball. I'll let people add to this as necessary.

I just now went to see who else played in all the Harry Potter movies, and I already knew they had a lot of well-known names there, but in fact they have a craplot of well-known names there. I knew about Alan Rickman, Warwick Davis, Robbie Coltrane and the likes, but Helena Bonham Carter? Ralph Fiennes? Gary Oldman... okay, Gary Oldman is in everything, but still, quite the casting effort in those. One of these days I'll have to actually watch one.

Tom Baker in Blackadder II's "Potato". Even after I'd seen classic Doctor Who, the pieces never fell into place for me until I saw people talking about it at Tom's official messageboard, and then it just sort of hit me: "Holy shit, Tom Baker played Redbeard Rum!"

And then there's the time I walked past the TV when House was on and I watched for one or two minutes, and I thought "that guy seems familiar."

I just watched Sense and Sensibility for the first time in a while, and I was surprised to see three Hogwarts professors in there: Emma Thompson (Trelawny), Alan Rickman (Snape), and Imelda Staunton (Umbrage). It's even more amusing when you realize that Umbrage is married to House in this movie. XD

Helena Bonham Carter?
It never ceases to amaze me that she keeps on getting roles where they take her perfectly hawtsome self, and go, "Hey, here, let's fuck with your hair and make you look as hideously evil as possible. There we go."

I had never realized until I saw Goblet of Fire for the second time that David Tennant played Barty Crouch Jr.

It was quite a revelation for me, shut up.

I beleive it was in The Patriot about 2 weeks ago when I saw that the guy who plays Snape in Harry Potter is in there.

Snape is in The Patriot? I know that Lucius Malfoy is; he plays (another) total jerk. Also, Odo from DS9. I loved The Patriot.

I just checked IMDB, and I think you must have been thinking of Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy, Col. Tavington). Unless you used the wrong movie title and I'm just being slow.

Well, now that we are in the Alan Rickman bandwagon: Marvin in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Perfect choice for the character, if I may say so.

Well Alan Rickman is a perfect actor all around - his voice drawls enough that he can be evil (Harry Potter) or bored or sad (Both Marvin) or just permanently stone-faced (Sense and Sensibility).
