Well, then do I have good news (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i9a352772046b5f139781428f87532dad) for you!

For those of you too lazy to click the link, Rainmaker Animation - who now owns the rights to the show - plan to resurrect it as a trilogy of films, and as a pseudo web-comic.

I'm excited now, since it looks like they're going to be faithful to the original show to keep all the fans happy. Only problem I can think of is Tony Jay, who did the voice of Megabyte, has died.

Let me be the first to say: Alphanumeric!

(Well, not the voice of Megabyte dying, but the rest is pretty nifty.)

Hm. I'm on the fence.

Reboot was like...hey, let's make this awesome CGI cyber-world and make it all about how it works inside a computer, then have episodes just about the people in the city's world.

The problem is once they made the main character go through the (what I call) Prince of Persia personality change, where he smolders with generic rage and, for some reason, doesn't shave, I pretty much said, fuck this I'm out.

If I want CGI awesome, I can watch Beast Wars.

However, hopefully this reboot of Reboot (heh) will do something about cleaning up the complete mess that was original Reboot's story.

Are you talking about Bob or Enzo - 'cause I actually did like the Enzo/matrix saga.

Well the Enzo thing was cool. But I'm talking about Bob's cheerful personality and slim frame, then suddenly he's, I don't know, Cable AKA Bob Summers, or something.

I did actually manage to get every single episode, including the two movies that they made. The cliffhanger pretty much threw me into depression when I found out tehy weren't making any more afterwards.
Still, got to love the homages/parodies that they crafted into it. Not sure what seemed to happen to Bob at the end though, his model looked a little...off...

I think his program got absorbed and redesigned by Microsoft. :p

I too am on the fence on this. I'm generally VERY wary of when new people try to do the same thing old people did. The "five undiscovered writers identified by Rainmaker" scares me. a LOT.

Yeah... the fact that they had a cliffhanger as the last episode really annoyed me. Kind of like, you know in Toy Story 2 where they were watching all those Woody's Roundup episodes, and it was canceled due to loss of interest? Well... I dunno why they canceled Reboot after a cliffhanger. Did it have something to do with the Megabyte voice dying thing? That would have been a bit of a series-ender.

With reference to the whole "bringing it back" thing, they could EASILY screw it up, but they could also make it very very good. Which is why I'm doubtful about this. Whenever there's something with potential for success balanced by potential for failure, it ALWAYS seems to fail. Anyone play Alter Echo? No? Of course not. Because they screwed up. It was the same with Fable, though to a lesser extent.

Yeah... I'm not getting my hopes up for this. Especially with the "undiscovered writers" thing. If they really are good, and not just... undiscovered, then it could be pretty good, and I'll hear about it again... but I won't check back unless it turns out successful.
