Maybe I just missed it, but I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Heroes here.

What does anybody think about the latest reincarnation of the X-men? Personally I think it's a well made show with some great concepts. It's nice to see a show that's not afraid to actually move forward with every episode.

Well, there was a thread on here (or maybe there were several, I know not) back when it first started in the US. But the series has finished there, hence the dieing of the thread.

However, revival time is upon us, as Heroes comes to the UK this very eve'! And about damn time.

Of course I only know what I've heard, but what I've heard sounds good, so I'll be checking it out tonight and seeing for myself it it really is as good as everyone says.

Although I'm stillskeptical about the effectiveness of the heroes powers, they just all seem kinda... meh... in a way. Except Hiro of course and I know he's everyones favourite.

he's not my favorite.

Is the UK getting what the US already had? If so how have you managed to avoid spoilers? XD

I actually liked Heroes; for me it's a change from watching Smallvill (I'm a Superman fan).

I get a DC story/world feel but the characters are all Marvel-derived in my opinion.

Oh man, this is like a chance to stop somebody reading Mostly Harmless...

Lemme just say that Heroes as an entire series is mostly great and sometimes fantastic. However, it can sometimes get bogged down by its own mythos which is why SPOILER I'd reccomend watching it till the 20th episode, then stop watching. In the next three episodes the only thing you get is one good line, and the rest is filler to the extremely anti-climactic finale. It might just be my opinion, but I felt like throwing it out there.

Anyways, to those just starting and wondering why nobody actually seems to use their powers, the best advice I can give is to wait.

I love Heroes. A lot. A LOT a lot. It has the fun mystery of Lost, but without the ridiculous complications and the part where nothing is ever, ever answered. They get around to answering questions pretty fast, which is a big plus. Though, I'll agree to some level with Lumenskir; (spoiler'd) The last few episodes before the season finale are totally there to keep you in suspense. They're really sort of spinning their wheels... however, if you're okay with this, I still recommend watching them. I, for one, would not want to miss a moment of Heroes-based action.

Also, until you can remember the character's names ('cause there are so damn many), it's fun to give them superhero names: Healer Girl, Mirror Girl, Flying Man, STJ Man (Space-Time Japan Man), etc. But that's just silliness.
