Anyone else catch this bit of awesomeness last night? If you missed it, you might have to wait for the DVD, because this is one of those things that Toonami might not play again.

I loved the series of monster battles this one had, one right after the next. And getting the same actors who were in the movie, to actually voice the animated film was pure sweetness.
I've got only three complaints about this movie.
1. The opening wasn't all that great. Just a sort of Law & Order reading of what the BRPD does, and a quick re-telling of Hellboy's origins. Maybe it would've been better if they used a different voice actor for that part, and maybe some more original music in the background. Or better still, maybe have Hellboy (Ron Pearlman) do the narration, but from a 'And these are our stories' point of view.
2. Spoiler: There is this section of the movie with Abe & Liz that bothers me. Specifically, I'm talking about when they take on the monster thingie themselves. The reason why this bothers me, is why is taking out that monster in any way important? I mean, had they not encouraged it, all it would've done is occasionally eaten the sea-life. It wouldn't have been able to get to Hellboy & the two main demon brothers in time to be of any help to them, and I don't see the difference between it & any of the other dragons that were released.
I get the idea that they needed to give Abe & Liz something important to do, but it would've been nice if they gave them a throwaway line how this dragon effected all the others in some way.
3. Doug Jones doesn't sound like he did in the movie. I mean, I could have sworn they used another voice actor. But he's there in the credits. I mean it isn't bad, but then again I wouldn't have minded his Niles Crane undertones a bit more. Edited to add: Apparently, David Pierce actually voiced Abe, but wanted to go uncredited in the movie.
Edited to add:
Found the official website (http://www.gotohellboy.com) for this movie. Just noticed the Stars Media credit at the start of the trailer. So if you missed it on Cartoon Network, there's a chance that you might be able to see it on Stars eventually.
A bit suprising that it won't be on DVD until Febuary... Better be loads of extras! (I want a short where Hellboy fights a Nazi cybernetic robot monkey!)
