Preview! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdvtemv2898)
So apparently they are using machinima for this epidose? Thats just awesome. This gives me a huge problem now... to watch the season premier of Lost...or should I watch some South Park machinima goodness?

What? I dunno, seems kind of faked, honestly. None of the 'machinima' bits had anything in them that couldn't have been dubbed from like twelve million other South Park episodes.
I mean if they were gonna make fun of World of Warcraft, wouldn't they just do it with construction-paper-cutout Orcs, or whatever they do?
ZERO.

They are lazy, that's why.
Plus they are running out of good ideas. The show is been going down hill for some time now.

Do I believe they would make fun of WoW? yes
Do I believe they will at some time do such an episode? probably
Do I believe that is an actual preview? doubtful

As unreal as it seems, it would still be hilarious if the did do an episode like that. Probably be a huge boost for their show in terms of viewers. Although it would be shortly lived because of other shows comming out and season premiers of other great shows, like Lost. I only said lost because it was mentioned, never seen it, and don't care to look into it.
SUMMARY: Be awsome if they did do it.
EDIT:

Umm, I don't think there was ever an episode with randy (Stan's dad) on a cellphone saying "I need to play WoW!". ever. So a very good chance they are making fun of WoW.

Heard from my "sources" that yes, this is for real.
I'll be watching. ^_^

If by sources you mean an official press release made by blizzard at the main WoW site then yes, its real.

What? That's a source, isn't it?
From what I've seen of the preview, though, my theory has been proven right. Only 8-year-olds play Alliance.

as I said, I wouldn't doubt they did a WoW episode. Its just the preview looks abit photoshopped is all. That and why haven't I seen it anywhere else?
Though looking at the 3 second clip of the first new episode, I actually think its pretty likely its a WoW one.
ZERO.

That battle at the end was epic.

See, I think they censored part of that episode. When that hacker's character finally died, he needed to implode on the mass of flesh and fat that he was.
Also, I've never played WoW. But now I have the urge...

Indeed, because it would have given the whole thing some resolution. The way it ended, he would have rezzed about 3 seconds later in the middle of Goldshire.
Also, I've never played WoW. But now I have the urge...
With the right people, it can be a lot of fun. Roll Horde, though. Alliance is for suckers.

Frankly this episode can do one of two things:
1."This game looks awesome! Im gonna try it out!"
Or
2. "Oh my god, its true...I have no life...I've become a bloated bastard! I gotta start playing less WoW and more time dieting and having a life!"

Roll horde and get on the Twisting Nether server. We have a great pvp guild and I'll powerlevel you. :D

"...I gotta start playing less WoW and more time dieting and having a life!"
That's what the government WANTS you to think. When you start playing WoW, life and looking good both become extremely overrated.
To speak for myself, I wouldn't be at all surprised if South Park is doing a WoW episode. Actually, given how long WoW's been out, the only surprise to me is why this episode hasn't come out much sooner.

Ok, saw it, and I kinda liked it. Plus it emphizied WHY I never really play MMORPGs (I RaiRO's just an MORPG), the senseless killing of other players by other players that intruppt and cause me to lose interest in a game.
Though I was fully expecting the guy playing the hacker either explode at the end, or just sigh, turn around, and then waddle out of his chair.
Or show that he was a Hutt or something.

Actually, as was mentioned once or twice in the show, you can't just do that. You can on PvP servers, of course, but there's only certain areas in the normal servers where someone can attack and kill you without your permission. Battlegrounds, enemy capital cities, and gurubashi and dire maul arena. Other than that, you have to willingly flag yourself for PvP to be attacked by anyone, and (excuding the arenas) it can only be done by members of the opposing faction, and horde and alliance players don't exactly cross paths that much.

No no no, roll horde and play on Uther. It's just cooler.

Son, I've ridden your tram. Hell, I've even danced naked in your tram.

I have to say I've played both sides to 60 and while yeah there's a lot of immature players on the alliance side... I'll be damned if the barrens chat is any better ;-)
I guess my view of the alliance side is because I ignore everyone but guildmates and most of them are 21+ so we have a good time. Of course you hordies better watch out when the expansion comes and half the kiddies leave our side to be blood elves!
EDIT: btw I just wanted to say it was really cool of blizz to help them out makin that(as I'm fairly certain they did) and also that the only thing funnier than that episode was the fact that when I logged in after it the horde were so upset at their exclusion from teh episode that they were raiding elwynn forest hardcore on my server.

I'm not a big fan of south Park. I find some of it's "comedy" to be a tad too crude and toilet humor-esque for my taste. However, this episode made me laugh over and over again, perhaps because I could easily see a reflection of a little bit of myself, friends and even strangers I have met online over the years in every aspect of their mockery of WoW.
I don't think anyone who avidly avoids games like WoW or even gaming entirely would readily understand the comedy behind this episode, though...I don't know.

Well, the Marines in my shop also found another source of amusement from this episode. See, one of the Marines that we work with looked a lot like the PK player character, so of course with a little work on Paint....we now have something to amuse ourselves.

I can see that as well, being that the concept of any victory in this game is and always will be hollow and meaningless. Too many times have I seen and/or been a part of celebrations of victories over enemies that would just respawn a few minutes later.
Futility is always comedy.

I found that (From a WoW Player's perspective) that the show was very funny, and made fun of the right things (From the outroar on the WoW forums it seems that half of those that post missed the point), however I asked several of my friends that don't play WoW, and after looking back it seems that the show was around average and nothing spectacular.
I was watching my roommate run some raids with his guild yesterday and he had a macro set to yell LIVE TO WIN!1!
To which someone would always respond TILL YOU DIE!!!
And then the music would start rollin... Patchwerk and Grobbulus did not know what hit em'.

(From the outroar on the WoW forums it seems that half of those that post missed the point)That seems to be a given truth about any episode of South Park and the community/group/mindset it targets. Except the Scientologists. They all miss it.

I watched the episode twice: once with my boyfriend and once with my roommate. My boyfriend and I laughed our asses off at the episode, I honestly thought it was fantastic. My roommate plays WoW and was pointing out all the things that were wrong with the ep from the WoW point of view. I laughed and told her to shut up.

You know, I just relized this: This is one of the few times the 4 kids actually work togeather without argueing....

Not to mention it's also one of the few times the four kids worked together, and Cartman didn't try to exclude Kyle for being a Jew.
He just made fun of him for having a girl character.

Oh and I finally saw it, funny episode. Now if only I can find the other new episodes online

I'm pretty sure Cartman called Kyle a Jew in this episode, he just didn't make a big deal of it, he made more of a deal about him being a woman.
One thing I didn't like about the episode is the increase of violence and bowel movements the series has been adding on lately. In this episode I could accept the violence because they were playing WoW. But the scene where Cartman takes a crap in the pan in the final battle was just messed up.

The sad thing was that most people on WoW are like that.
