So I saw this on Newgrounds today, its an Invader Zim Fan-Created Flash Animation (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/332880). Now, it's pretty good, not supa-awesome, but for a fan effort it's very good. However, the cool thing is that while watching the credits, guess who's name I happened to see?

CHICAGO¤lollie, that's who.

So I say to you all, go watch the flash, and if you happen to bump into Chicago, congratulate him and his fellow animators on their efforts.

Way to go, dude!

Wow. That's brilliant. The only thing I don't like is Zim's voice. It sounds kind of echoey or something. I mean, it's too blatantly a recording.

I feel so...violated. How dare he cheat on us with another forum!

Oh, I cheat on quite a number of forums!

...seven!

Yeah, Jim's been working on that. I think he had one of those desktop microphones at the time - y'know, the ones that crackle like mad if you try to speak into it. So he had to say his lines at a distance.

Regarding the short, I wasn't really happy with how it came out at all, both animation and sound-wise. If I was there as an animator, I would've let my perfectionism get the better of me and fix up all the visual glitches and imperfections. But I didn't, I'm only there for music.

Speaking of which, I actually really quite hate how the music came out. The first draft was so much better (http://chicagolollie.madtracker.net/IZFAS00Track.mp3), but was a little too active for *Cyberen's liking. So he got me to revise the whole thing with an outline of what he had in mind. I still think it didn't have the same kind of impact that the first draft had, but what's done is done, can't change it now.
* Cyberen wrote the little script for this episode.

The short was released to get the IZFAS name out there, so that we could hopefully grab people's attention and draw in some more helpers. So far though, the majority of people applying have either gone for writer positions, which we really don't need any more of - we had to close off applications for writer jobs. It'd be really nice if we could get some more animators in there. Not that I'm hinting at something or anything like that. :D
