I posted the first thread some time ago, but I'm reposting it now with the Mod-seal-of-approval.

Well, the comic is The Modern Edda, available here: http://eddas.comicgenesis.com and here: http://www.themodernedda.com

The story revolves around Loki, the Norse god of trickery, lies and occasionally fire.

What's happened is this: Ragnarök is approaching and Loki has escaped from his prison within the Earth. However, Fate seems to have overlooked something and Loki manages to not do what he's fated to do in order to start Ragnarök. At the same time, Odin doesn't do what he's supposed to have done. Loki and Odin have a confrontation and Loki ends up completely powerless in the mortal world. Specifically, Toronto.

It's got 24 pages at the moment and updates on Mondays, so please check it out!

I can understan casting him into the world of mortals, but... Toronto?

Now that's just mean.

Also:

"Perhaps his dark spirit will find a place in death."

"What do you call this stuff?"

"Macaroni and cheese."

"Macaroni and cheese is fantastic."

That was pretty good.

Unless your canadian, you can;t poke fun at Toronto. Even though it is so very very easy.

Interesting comic. However, like what ff said, casting someone in Toronto is just downright evil.

I am kidding all you Toronto people. Please don;t furt me =P

Hey, come on! Toronto is great! ...Mostly because of the whole write-what-you-know thing. And I only know Toronto.

That's about the saddest thing I've ever heard.

It's not that bad.

In any event, the comic is written by myself and my friend (Who is behind the Tempest's Modern Edda.) He writes the comedy, I draw and write the melodrama and occasionally the comedy (Such as the macaroni comic.)

This comic's hilarious. Keep up the good work, Skit. The blend of solemnity and humor is distinct.

I've lived in Alabama for 19 years and can't remember the last time I was out of the state for more than a week. I win the crappiest living stories!

Onto the topic:

I like the comic alot, and yeah, the Macaroni thing split my sides pretty well.

Heh, I'm kinda surprised so many people like my macaroni joke. It was just a last minute thing when I scrapped the first script to that comic.

It was just rather well timed.

Also the way you played the overwrought drama against the offhand comedy worked rather well.

Hmm...so are the Odin sides of the strip at the same time, or before the current events of what Loki's doing? I must say though that I liked the Psycho who says out loud what he's going to murder with joke.

Also, I must request that more bad things happen to Loki. Because I hates that particular norse deity so. Just cause.

I will tell you this skit. Your comic is pretty genius. I like the truly bizzare/different, not-game-related comic and yours fits the bill nicely. You are also as I am noticing walking on virgin ground with the whole Ragnarok/Norse Gods/Aesir format. It is quite interesting. I wish you luck wiht it.

Also you are quite a talented artist.

Thank you!

Anybody who has been keeping up, I'm sorry I just had two weeks of filler. Moving is hard.

"Plus, I've been trying to set people on fire all day with no luck."

You know... that so sounds like something Loki would do, for reasons which will come to him later. Just for fun: feel free to claim your first Asatru fan. :)

What devilry is in the latest comic?! Could it be colour? Yes it is! Finally you know what colour shirt Dr. Teeth is wearing and I don't think the new girl would come across as well without the purple hair.

Looks like crap. And what the Hell is the deal with that stupid artwork? It's (BLARGH) anime styled.

I must point out something that you no doubt learned as a child: If you aren't going to say something nice, don't say it. In this case, it's slightly different since posting it here is pretty much requesting constructive criticism, but going to something and saying it sucks is pointless. It won't change their mind about keeping it, progressing with it, or anything. Don't like it, don't read it.

Anywho: I started reading this a while back and completely forgot about it. I'm happy you posted it back up here because I likes it. =p

To counter the flaming, I thought I'd mention I've got this bookmarked. I really like it, though I'll admit to bias, I have a thing for Norse mythology and really anything that plays with theologies. Anyway, anyone else think the purple haired woman and the eggplant are connected?

Eggplant= Jewish/Christian god it seems
Purple equals colour of Christianity(or at least Catholicism, not sure)
Woman has purple hair.

And I don't see the problem with manga style anyway, sure it's a little flooded, but this is well done so it's fine.
Oh and shat myself at the macaroni and cheese bit.

Wow, what? I mean seriously? I honestly just can't believe people fucking talk like that to other people and mean it.

Hey I know, why don't you share something you put your own time and effort into, so we can all sit around shitting on that?

I mean you know, share it a week from now, after you're done being banned.

I suggest you take the off time as a chance to read our god-damn rules (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11) and learn to mind your manners.

EDIT: And for this, too (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showpost.php?p=442227&postcount=10). Sorry no, we're not fucking having that here.

God and the purple-haired girl, connected? Mmmaybe. I shall not tell!

I've been slowly but surely working my way away from manga and anime to more of the North American animation style. That is, like Batman Beyond.

On topic: good comic. I read a book of Norse mythology not too long ago, so it's catching me at a good time. Keep it up.

I read through the archives and am currently going through withdrawl symptoms. The story is fun and the art's pretty good as well(read: better then anything i'll ever manage), meaning I now have another painful waiting game to play with a web comic.

And insofar as "The-suckiest-place-to-have-spent-the-better-part-of-you-life-in" contest, I live in mississippi. The one time I've left the state the car broke down and the engine blew up.

It won't let me leave..

Hmph. Well, as long as you di'n't mean nuffin', I guess it's okay. I like my Sandman avatar better anyway.

We should probably be getting back to comic discussion now, though. Since I'm working on getting a buffer of some kind ready, tomorrow night you'll see another comic starring my writer if he wasn't bound by my plot and art constraints.

So, a funny thing happened today. I had to get to my sitetoday while at school and I found that "This site has been blocked for the following reasons: Hate Speech"

... I think the eggplant god is pissing somebody off. Especially considering the comic, at it's core, is about tolerance and acceptance of religion.
