Besides, it's not like Witchblade was ever much else, for all that the comic's creators tried to kid themselves.

I mean what's your starting concept, she's got what is, basically, a Spidey-symbiote, but with a naughty fashion sense. There's not a whole lot of purity of creative vision to be maintained from that point on, however they try to make her all angsty and depressive about being a hot chick with a naughty Spidey-symbiote.

For that matter, it's not like the couple of dozen subsequent team-ups with Lara Croft and Vampirella accomplished a whole lot in that regard.

I suppose that if it is within your power to make a woman into an ultimate demon killer and make her very, very horny, then you would probably go ahead and do that.

Still, having read some of the Witchblade comics and seen a few episodes of the TV show, the Japanese take on the character seems too deviant from the original storyline for my sensibilities.

So im not sure about WHEN did the Lust became obvious... but for sure it wasnt created on the japanese version... maybe they just thought "Well... the girl is always half-naked and bended like a porn actress on the US comics... lets just a reason for it!"
