The new series starts today. I am excited, to say the least.
Because, I mean...GHOST RIDER. New. GHOST RIDER comics. The thing that puts me off, though, is my dad used to read Ghost Rider. He even still has some of his old ones. 's just weird.

That mini-series they did a little bit back was pretty fantastic.

Yeah. Yeah it was. Of course, it was GHOST RIDER. How could it be anything but fantastic?

He's got a flaming skull for a head.
You just can't argue with that.

Think the movie will be any good? It's got Nicholas Cage in it, and I like him, so maybe it'll be cool.
Also, my friend was convinced for a while that whenever I talked about Ghost Rider, I was, in fact, referring to Ghost Writer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostwriter_%28TV_series%29), unaware that there was a Marvel character with a similar name.

Visually and conceptually, I think Ghost Rider is awesome. However, I have yet to read anything from GR that really wowed me. Any suggestions?
As to the movie, comic movies in general (with some exceptions) seem to be getting better all the time, so I'm pretty optimistic about this one. And if nothing else, the visuals should be pretty kick ass.

Got the comic today. I am pleased. He hath unleashed the very fury of hell itself.

Ghost Rider is totally awesome.
When you're 15.
He's great for supporting roles, but giving him his own title has always seemed a little dumb to me. Giving him his own movie is incredibly stupid. But, then again, I'd be much happier if he just made inexplicable cameos in other Marvel movies.
Like Spider-Man 3 ending with Ghost Riding zooming up, saving the day, and riding off. And everyone's like, "Thanks, Ghost Rider!" and then credits.
So my opinion in this matter may not be worth trusting.

I'm a pretty big Marvel fan (except for completely missing House of M) and I just have no interest in a ghost rider movie...I like the movies based on the Marvel characters even the ones that kinda suck (Daredevil, Elektra, X-Men 1 I'm looking at you...) I was never really into Ghost Rider anyways...he really doesn't need a movie...

The comics are farly good. The one thing I hate is that Stan Lee is sortive Selling out he gets roles in all of the movies and he gets money for them to use the characters. But ya its a good comic.

You think that constitues selling out? What about when he was writing for DC? That was selling out man...just because he gets to be in the movies doesn't make him a sell out...and he gets money for his creations on the big screen just as anyone should...I mean if I made something up and it was made into a movie then yeah I would probably want some money and a cameo...
Also I don't recall who invented Ghost Rider but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Stan.

No, no, Ghostie was invented by someone most definitly not Stan Lee. And the role Stan Lee plays is sorta, "Oh hey, what was that? Who was that guy who was in that whole two frames? Was...was that Stan Lee? I think it was, kinda, maybe...but I'm not sure."
Oh, and Brian always has the coolest ideas.
