Hey guys,

I'm a fairly decent writer (or at least I'd like to believe I am) and a friend of mine is a very skilled artist. Together, we're hoping on devising a webcomic formula that will work.

However, neither one of us is skilled with website creation and HTML. Simply put, we're both neophytes when it comes to the daily technical operations of the internet. I couldn't even fathom what it would take to make a snazzy website capable of hosting a webcomic.

Do you guys have any advice as to the more practical components necessary to make a webcomic work? As in, where I should host it, how to make the webpage look, how to sell it to the webcomic browsing community without ruffling feathers?

I don't know anything about webdesign, but I wrote a tutorial explaining how to install a webcomic automation script.

I would recommend Dreamhost. Don't worry about promotion until you have a good number of comics on your site. Also, try http://www.webmonkey.com

Good luck.

Edit: I just made a promo code that will save anyone $50 if they buy hosting from Dreamhost: ONELINERS

I suggest

To host your comic. It has basically everything you need.
