When I go to different sections of the forum, my total private message count changes. I have 41 at the moment. When I go into arts&crafts, it becomes 28. When I go to the private messaging screen it becomes 38. Is something wrong or is this normal?

Perhaps your Total private messages includes your Sent Items folder? While in the main forums the count is only your received messages?

41 - 28 = 13 sent messages?

If we're talking about that little number in the top right, yes, it always counts sent messages as well. If its different from your inbox's number, that's why.

But he said that it lowered when he went to arts and crafts, so I've got no clue what's happening.

Its not just that! The thing that says "you last visited:" changes too! And it doesn't show the updates on some threads! For example: The Weird Al: Your pitiful thread has 4 pages. Whenever I look at it from outside, it says 2!
Edit: Now I see. My computer's clock was set to June 1. It was mixing the page now and as it was then.

Speaking of private messages, is there any way to send someone who has their PM messagebox full, any type of message whatsoever?

There's always e-mail, if they have it enabled. It'd show up under 'contact info' on their profile page.

Whether or not they check that particular e-mail account is another matter...

Someone should make a thread for people to post for people to clear their PM box. Like "The 'Official Clear Your Damn PM box!' Thread".

It's been done before (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=5971). The thing is, it's more effective if the offending party is in the title. I imagine most people can tell when their inbox is full, though, so maybe the intended recipient just doesn't want PMs?

They may be cached pages. Try pressing Refresh on one of the offending pages, and see if you get a newer version. If that doesnt work, clear your internet files (and cookies) and see if that fixes it.

If it doesnt... then marvel at the amazing changing numbers. :P
