Crossed out text--how d'you do that?

It's been something bugging me a bit for a while here. Some folks are able to make crossed out text in their posts, and I must admit that's an effect I'd like to be able to create for myself. So how do you do it? (I tried searching this forum for this and got nothing. Maybe I used the wrong words, I dunno.)

It's at the bottom. But in short, s in squared brackets, like in HTML. Apart from the squared brackets part as in HTML they're pointy, but you know what I mean.
