So for the last few boredom racked days I have been compiling a list of every game I have ever played in depth, and let me tell you it was a long list.
When I got done, I decided to vote out my top 25 games of all time.
And here they are:
25) X-men Legends (Multiple Systems) - Fun for a while, but if you can get a friend to play with you and sit through the god awful Magma parts of the story then ou have a winner.
24) Kid Icarus (NES) - Guh, a game I still have yet to beat, although I have gotten mighty close. The phrase "I'm Finished" still makes me twinge a little.
23) Mega Man 2 (NES) - Probably the greatest of the Megaman series, this game set the tone for every entry to follow and cemeted my love for all things Mega-man
22) Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete (PSX) - If you have not played this game, then pinch yourself. This game is not innovative, or new, but its story is legendary.
21) The Legend of Zelda (NES) - You can't beat the classics can you? I really don't anything else to say, NES at its best.
20) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game (NES) - I still get a kick out of this game, there is no better feeling than kicking foot butt with a buddy as one of our favorite pizza eating friends.
19) Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - I still remember the first time I beat the game in one sitting without warping. Even to this day I despise the levels in world 7 with all of the little plants where you have to run with the stars...
18) Lufia & The Fortress of Doom (SNES) - Love! Intrigue! An actual plot, and an RPG with some actual difficulty! Even if the Final Boss was a joke (But how many final bosses in RPGs are ever truly difficult), one of the greatest plot twists in an RPG ever.
17) Blades of Steel (NES) - I don't know why but this game has always tickled me on some level, maybe its the fist fights, or maybe its something else. This game has always given me enjoyment.
16) Ms. Pac-Man (Arcade) - When I was little I had a library of old arcade games at my disposal (My uncle owns a a vending machine and arcade game business). This was the only one I was any good at, I'm still pretty good too.
15) Time Crisis 2 (Arcade) - My Uncle once ran out of room to store his games, and I offered to store a few of them in our shed since it was dry and had a sturdy lock. I must have spent days back in that old shed playing this bad boy.
14) Tetris (GB) - Another puzzle game for the ages, I could never get past level 19.
13) Pokemon Red/Blue (GB) - Love em or hate em, Pokemon was a very good game. I must have spent hours crawling through the grass looking for a freaking Pikachu.
12) Wild Arms - A truly unique and fun RPG that never got its just praise because it came out at the same time as FF7.
11) Mike Tyson's Punch-out - If you have ever played any amount of games then you know that certain games that no matter how long it has been since you played them last, they leave an imprint on you. Like riding a bike. This is one of those games, Puch-out skill don't go away, they just rust a little.
10) Contra (NES) - I have yet to beat the game on single player. In fact, I cannot name a person who has. If you know someone who says they have, they are lying, and you should not believe them unless you watch them do it.
9) Super Smash Bros Melee (GCN) - There exist no better party game, and until Brawl is released it shall be so.
8) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) -
7) Starcraft (PC) - Let me put it like this, I'm still waiting for the sequel, Kerrigan will get her just deserts one day.
6) Suikoden (SNES) - War, death, intrigue, a good plot. This game has a certain charm that many newer games lack.
5) Xenogears (PSX) - This game bears playing twice, in no small part because the plot is so damn complicated you pick up more with knowledge of the plot. The only thing the game suffers from is a half-assed plot on the second disk, but the ending is awesome
4) Suikoden 2 - Takes all the best parts from the first game and improves upon them all.
3) Chrono Trigger (SNES) - I cannot explain the joy that is playing Chrono Trigger. If you have to ask, then Chrono Trigger is not for you, but even then you should still play Chrono Trigger.
2) Super Mario Rpg(SNES) - Something about the melting together of Snes era-Square and Nintendo makes this game a classic.
1) Final Fantasy III (SNES) - 50+ hours of gameplay. Characters that each have a distinct personality. A thousand or more quotable lines. Critters that are now considered standard in Square games, such as moogles and chocobos. These are just some of the things you'll find in this video game titan. No other Final Fantasy game has been able to topple this king from its throne.
