It's nearly summer--that time of year when a young gamer's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of expanding her Super Nintendo selection. (Well, mine does.)
At any rate, you all were incredibly helpful in terms of suggesting games for my Game Boy Advance, so I thought you'd be able to chip in a few ideas about some classic titles. Here's a brief list of my good games:
StarFox
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Mario World
Soul Blazer
Illusion of Gaia
Mega Man X
Chrono Trigger
Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2
Donkey Kong Country 3
and my "Don't laugh, I was too young/didn't know at the time" games:
Animaniacs
(better than one might think, but still...I liked the Animaniacs better back when they were the Marx Brothers.)
Ren and Stimpy: Fire Dogs
(not too bad, this; just unfinishable witout a cheat)
Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day
(no apologies for this, it's neither great nor horrible)
AAAHH! Real Monsters
(look, I loved the cartoons, that's why all the Nicktoons games. I was naive.)
Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
(my cousin left it at my house once, never reclaimed it)
X-Men: Mutant Apocolypse (also one my cousin left)
Mario is Missing
Mario's Time Machine
(I'm so sorry. *So* sorry.)
Mario Paint
(fun, but only so much I can do with it)
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
(better than its reputation, worse than you'd hope)
Kirby's Avalanche
(someday, I'd like a *real* Kirby game...)
Tetris 2
(again, not bad, just...meh)
Lester the Unlikely
(my only defense is my ignorance of its horrors before I picked it up)
more as I remember them. Any suggestions in any genre are appreciated.
Thanks again in advance

May I suggest Act Raiser? It's a lovely little combination of of side-scrolling platforming and a watered-down world builder...except in the world building, you have to protect your people from various flying monsters with an angel that shoots arrows.
It's very fun.

Here's a list of a couple of games you should probably get that you haven't listed.....
1. Donkey Kong Country 1
Why not DKC2? Because I love the first one and the others get really frustraitng for me (I'm just a sore loser.... XD).
2. Megaman 7
3. All of the other Super Mario Worlds.
The second is really strange and the game play is completely different than the other Super Mario Worlds. It's still fun, though.
4. Super Mario Kart
I love this game, I'd always play it and it just endless fun. Rainbow Road is a real bitch, though. Heheh.....
5. A Contra game wouldn't hurt anyone.
Well, it sure as hell hurt my pride due to how HARD it gets and how many times I've died in the goofiest ways. I still manage to find it fun, though.
6. Street Fighter 2
This is a must. A MUST.....
7. Mortal Kombat
Gawd playing this game rocks. I always did love doing the uppercut finisher in the pit stage...
8. An F-Zero game..
Mainly because going at exaggeratingly fast speeds is fun. Even if you end up falling off the track and exploding when you touch the squares....
There's probably more, but this is all of the ones that really come to mind. Some of these I haven't beaten, but I spent a lot of hours as a younger child mindlessly playing these games. Even if I never got far.....
There is a Kirby game that it's like Super Mario ALL Stars, with lot's of games from Kirby. Get it.
Terraenigma too, is great RPG.
Talking about RPGs, how about Super Mario RPG?
No love for Megaman X?
Super Metroid?Hell, does this one even needs a description?

Are you ashamed of Turtles in Time? TURTLES IN TIME?! You should be ashamed of being ashamed of it. And I suggest Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy V and VI (III on SNES in USA) for the GBA are coming out later this year for the USA... I can't wait. :P

Desert Strike - a straigh forward helicopter shooter. there is a simple pleasure in strafing enemy bunkers with rockets.
Earthbound - a very fun and wierd RPG. uncertain as to how difficult it will be to find, as it currently sits at cult status.
Pilotwings - flight, parachute, handglider, and rocket belt simulator. more fun than you might think.
I also second the suggestions of Super Metroid (you're all shocked, i know), and Megaman X.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
Good luck finding it cheap though, as it will usually cost you a pretty penny. I'd say wait for the Wii's Virtual Console if I knew it would be on that though.
I see a disturbing lack of Simcity as well.
Prince of Persia is fun as well. Damn difficult though.
There are of course, others, but I wanted to make sure these got out there.

You might like some NBA Jam or Looney Toons B-Ball.
Definitely Earthbound, any Final Fantasy game you can, Terranigma. Act Raiser 1 and 2 are also extremely unique and fun.
Contra 3, Street Fighter 2...Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Smash TV, EVO. Secret of Mana. Kirby's Superstar.
Fushigi no Dungeon 2, if you can find it. There's a whole nother list of J-carts, but then again, you need a Supa Famicom for that.

Damn, Locke just stole every game I was going to suggest. >_<
hmmm... nope, drawing a blank. DAMN YOU LOCKE!

How about F-Zero? Sure it's classic and people might patronise me for it but it is a really fun game. Also I was thinking about Judge Dredd if you can find it. It's a really fun side-scrolling shooter and you should think about looking it up.

Mega Man X.
You fucking need it.
Mega Man 7 was really good too, but Mega Man X has that "I-Can-Still-Beat-Every-Maverick-Up-Until-Sigma-Stage-2" feel to it for me.

May I suggest Legend of the Mystical Ninja? Excellent game, great characters, great mix of overworld and sidescrolling action. A bit on the hard side but enjoyable none the less.

...
Kirby's Avalanche
(someday, I'd like a *real* Kirby game...)
...
I have three words for you my friend: Superstar Kirby Deluxe!
I also second everything Zicquall said, though I think Super Metroid retails for around £50 nowadays.
Also pick up Harvest Moon, Super Punchout and Lufia II (The original Lufia might be a good idea for getting some background on the story, but it isn't nessesary. And the second is superior, in my opinion)

Fuck, I didn't say Lufia II. Dammit!
Kirby Superstar is alot of fun - eight games, unlockable moment-by-moment, all with Kirby. Good fun for you and a friend.
If you gonna play Lufia 2, have a friend/FAQ near for the Red/ Yellow blocks puzzle.

I really can't tell what kind of gamer you are from that list. There are so few games from your favorites list and it's so diverse, I need more information. Do you mind long, slow games? How do you feel about graphics? These are things we need to know.
Generally suggestable SNES games (alphabetical order):
Batman Returns
Blackthorne
Breath of Fire 2
Demon's Crest (rare!)
Flashback (rare!)
F-Zero
Leathal Enforcers (this game originally came with a big blue revolver light-gun, and it should work with other SNES light-guns)
Killer Instinct
Jungle Strike
Mega Man Soccer
Mega Man X 2, 3
Micro Machines
Mortal Kombat 2
Ninja Gaiden Trilogy
Nosferatu (rare!)
Sim-Ant
Sim-City
Super Bomberman series
Super Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi (DO NOT GET SUPER STARWARS that game is crap)
Warlock
There are games that people have already mentioned: Super Metroid, NBA Jam, Super Mario RPG, Lufia 2, Ogre Battle, Super Punch-Out!!, Secret of Mana, the Final Fantasy series. Actually, most Capcom, Konami and Squaresoft games for the SNES are worth playing.
Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma
I cannot stress on how awesome these games are.

Ooh, yeah. Definitely get your hands on some Super Bomberman and Harvest Moon. The classic that started it all!

Y'know, my wife's favorite SNES game was Illusion of Gaia. Emphesis on "was". Then I introduced her to Chrono and god it changed her life.
Soul Blazer was fun though. I died several times on the one boss on the ship. Sucked big ones.
As far as good games for the SNES, they are gonna be difficult to come by at a half decent price.
-- Castlevania IV is good times.
-- Surprised no one's mentioned Super Ghouls and Ghosts.
-- Brain Lord. It's this sweet action/rpg that I don't think got very popular because of the name.
There are others, but I'm sure the likes of Super Metroid are going to be mentioned time and time again. I see you already have Chrono, which is a no-brainer (I love the music for the kingdom of Zeal).
I'll think of more when I can get to my collection. The wife is sleeping in the room with the collection right now, and I like the ability to breath.
