Keep on shinin', yeah, keep on shinin',

The country song moved through the bar, over the voices of the talking folk but not terribly loud. The volume meter was regulated for such, and the sound sensors, when they worked, adjusted the volume slightly to keep the effect. The bar had wooden furniture topped with a type of fake stone that looked almost like onyx. It was a nice place, not that the same could be said for the people in it. The outside had a nice view of the Atlantic Ocean, and small figures could be seen playing on the beach far below.

Shinin' like the noon-day sun,

The air smelt of cigarette smoke, alchohol, and various perfumes that people had decided made them smell nice. Drakus continued to glare around, extending his thin tongue for a moment reflexively. He had been on edge all day, which wasn't unusual considering he had gotten eight bouts of deja vu in the morning and afternoon alone. Everything was seemingly more threatening and in general, more irritating. He plunked his card on the bar counter, muttering something about scotch in a low growl. The bartender understood well enough, and the six and a half foot tall komodo hybrid downed the strong drink as soon as it was brought to him. He slipped his card back in his pocket. Today was a simple scouting mission. There had been numerous disturbances in the city, as of late, and he was supposed to find out what was causing them. His stomach rumbled. He would have to eat in a few hours.

Keep on shinin', jes' keep on shinin',

He stood up and began walking towards the door. After passing one of the tables, he felt his prosthetic left arm connect with something and heard the crash of a glass upon the ground.

Shit. He thought to himself, withdrawing his arm although it was too late and bending down to pick up the shards of broken glass. "I'm sorry about this." He said, picking up the shards of glass with his left arm and placing them in the palm of his right.

"Why don' che' watch where yer goin', ya big dumb piss!" Came a loud, slightly slurred voice.

I said I was sorry, you stupid prick. I should rip out those irritating vocal chords. Drakus thought, feeling his blood rush a bit cold, but he responded instead, in a cool, calm voice, "I'll replace the drink for you, please calm down."

He then for the first time looked up at the guy. He was large, the kind of guy who you could stick a dagger in the belly of and have no fear of puncturing his stomach. He had black sideburns, red hair and a fight-worthy scowl. From a genetic angle, Drakus suspected he might be part gorilla, but the guy looked almost wholly human. Several people who had been at other tables drew thin gray knives and stood up. Drakus then realized that this guy was most likely a gang leader. "Of all the people..." He muttered under his breath.

The guy grinned savagely and pointed at Drakus. "Well, I was gonna let you off easy, but seein' as how you've got a twisted ladder, I guess I can beat on you a bit. Maybe give you another of those fancy hands." He said, nodding at Drakus' left arm.

The big komodo hybrid's eyes narrowed, and he tensed his shoulder and brought his left arm's blade to the gang leader's throat with stunning speed, pressing the blade against his jugular and pushing it in hard, restaining himself just enough that he wouldn't cut the vein. "That so? Sure you wouldn't like a new circulatory system?" He said quickly, his mouth moving before he had time to think. The rest of the gang froze, their leader's eyes wide with fear. "Dont think I won't cut it if you reach for your knife." Drakus said, the man's arm twitching with fear. The man's stomach suddenly started to churn, His shirt looking like it was about to give. Drakus' eyes widened as he realised what was about to happen. A pair of hands burst from the shirt, one pushing Drakus' left arm away from the man's throat and the other pushing at his chest, shoving him backwards. He saw the other members of the gang move, and he fell to the ground to dodge the hail of knives that followed shortly after. His tail uncoiled and curled around the back of the sitting man's leg, slicing through his achelies tendion. He howled in pain, clutching his now useless leg and rolling behind his chair. Drakus seized the table by two of its legs, hurling it at the gang members. Two of them dodged, but the third was hit in the forehead and went down with a crash. Drakus lept bodily on the one to his left, grabbing him by the shirt and slamming his head into the ground, leaving a bloody splatter where his nose had broken. He hurled a chair towards the third one, who dodged it and threw another knife, which Drakus blocked with his left arm. The knife seemed to disappear, and Drakus looked confused for a moment before shaking his sleeve and watching it clatter to the wood below. He grabbed it with his foot, opposable toe getting around the handle somewhat and flinging it with a great ammount of force. The gang member was so astonished that he had forgotten to dodge. The knife hit him in the right side of his chest, and he fell to the ground with a shout of surprise. Drakus looked over as a slender piece of wood shot by his right shoulder. He ducked another one. He heard something hit the ground and instinctively rolled away from it. A loud blast and a sudden feeling of heat from that direction let him know he had been right on. He peeked his head up to see what he was up against.

The gang leader's two regular arms had a pin and another grenade in them, and the two from his stomach had a double crossbow, which they were reloading. He saw that the man had a self-defense unit on his belt's buckle, just like Drakus did. He punched the "ten second" button on his belt, hoping the producers hadn't been lying when they had said that the heavy shielded function could let the user survive a stick of dynamite at close range. He crouched and sprang, sailing over the tables and landing in front of the man, who hurled the grenade straight at his face. He caught it with his left arm, smacking the crossbow out of the man's stomach arms with a slap of his tail and pressing the explosive into the man's now free hands, pulling back his arms and closing his eyes as the grenade detonated in a rush of heat.

His ears rang for a bit, and then he heard the faint sound of screaming. It got louder as his hearing returned, along with people's panicked voices and a rather disgusting stench he had smelled before, one of burnt flesh. Drakus opened his eyes, and discovered the source of the unpleasant odor. The gang's leader was rolling around on the ground, holding his mid-section and screaming his lungs out. His two arms near his stomach were now nothing more than a pair of charred nubs, and the guy himself had several wounds from the shrapnel. Drakus' predatory instincts said to finish him off, but he shook them off quickly.

"The proper authorities will be here soon." He said over the man's screaming, removing a small oragnizer from his pocket and pressing a button. He turned to the rest of the people in the bar. "Tell them this man is a suspect for the murders of several John Does who were found missing arms, and that he has had unauthorized transplants performed on him. Also call a hospital for four men, three with moderate injuries, one who may die from shock." He said quickly and cooly. He put the oragnizer away, but looked down at the man and grinned at him slightly, sheathing his arm-blade and flexing his hand. "Who's getting the 'fancy hands' now?" He said, leaving the bar and beginning his patrol, with a note of satisfaction.

Shinin' 'till the sun goes down.

In the bowels of the city in a dark alley Dakeyras was in trouble.

He had been minding his own business walking through the alley on the way to his temporary home when two guys had dropped from a window above him and tried to "retire" him. Judging by the speed and grace they moved with and the fact they had tried to drop on him they were obivously geneticaly modded with some kind of large cat. Probably part of the programs elite guards who had chased him ever since his escape from the experiment.

They circled around on either side so that it was hard for him to keep his eye's on both of them. In a sudden movement Dakeyras spun and struck out at the one moving around on his left with a knife to the throat. With his other hand he lifted his crossbow and planted several bolts in the others chest and head dropping him to the ground instantly writhing in pain as his cerebellum was divided by the crossbow bolt. Letting go of the crossbow Dakeyras turned back to the first and retrieved his knife from his throat before sheathing it and disappearing running off towards his current home.

(OOC the crossbow is on a sorta elastic band attached to his armour so when he drops it it falls to hang by his waist ready to be used if neccesary)

Ajax sits on the street corner, his long, nimble fingers picking out the chords of a complex and beautiful melody. As he plays someone from the crowd sporadicly(sp?) tosses a bit of money into a hat at his feet. Everytime someone does so, he smiles to himself and plays more passionately, letting the music flow through him. As he loses himself in his music, he loses track of time. It soon grows dark without his realizing. He is jerked from his intense playing as a shadow falls across him where he sits. He looks up, and finds himself staring into a pair of eyes filled with hatred.
"F***ing splicers, they're f***ing abominations," he turns to the man behind him and smiles "maybe we should do our part to clean up the streets." Its phrased like a question, but Ajax knows its not. Pure-breed supremacists, they attack anything with bionic or genetic enhancements.

Knowing these men ould not hesitate to harm him, Ajax lashes out. He breaks his guitar on the lead mans head as he turns back to face the fruit bat hybrid. Ajax darts into a nearby alley, hoping to escape before more supremacists show up. His ploy proves unsuccessful as ajax's keen ears pick up the acoustics of at least 8 men chasing him. This wasn't some random happening, these men had probably been watching him all day, planning an attack. He picks up his pace even as he curses himself for breakign his guitar. In the next heartbeat he prays for help, knowing he can't get away in the tight confines of this area and that he can't fight them unarmed.

Kat's supple fingers enclosed around the diamond, She drew her hand back, Careful not to break the beams of light that would call every guard in the building down on her.
The Security system in the auction house was easy to bypass, Cameras were time looped showing an empty room with their precious rock safe as could be, The guards patrol schedule still gave her three minutes to get out of the building, Last but not least the beams of light that protected the stone were ground based, So hanging upside down from the roof and entering thru the vent system had gotten around that problem, That's where the Panther dna infused in her genetic makeup helped.

Hitting the retract on her belt Kat was raised back into the vent, Packing away her gear she started her escape, So far all was going to plan.
Lights and sirens blared accross the Auction house and footsteps echoed down the hallways.
"Blast it" kat thought to herself "Guards can never be trusted to keep a schedule"
Fliping out of the vent Kat made a burst for her exit, no need for stealth now her main goal was escape.
Turning the final corner to the roof access Kat came face to faec with three guards, Simulatniously(sp?) the guards grabed for guns.
Throwing her backpack at the first guard he droped his gun to catch the bag, the second was met by a axe kick to the shoulder, The cracking sound a telltail to a broken bone.
The last had almost raised his gun when the tazer that appeared in Kats hand stuck him fair in the chest.
Ther first guard stood watching as Kat turned around, "You know if i left you standing it'd look bad for you" Kat explained to her contact.
"yeah! i know, Luckly you pay well" returned the dark haired man seconds befor cumpling to the floor.

Exiting the building Kat grabbed her hanglider and sailed into the darkness.

OOC: I'll save ya, Fuzzy! ...Of course, I think you had that planned.

Sync had had a pretty enjoyable day. He'd had the day off from his part time job, which meant he could just loaf around for the day -- something he was getting used to doing lately. However, that got boring after a while, so he decided to go out for a walk.

Boy, what a choice that had been.

He had come across what looked like a little scene. A hat filled with loose change, and a guy that looked something like a goon, knocked out, with pieces of a guitar all around him. Whatever it was, it had happened recently. Probably a mugging for that money.

"Wonder where they went, though," he thought, a bit curious.

His question was quickly answered as he heard yells like "Get the freak!" and "Rip his fucking head off!" Not very subtle, whoever they were. Sync walked with an almost unnatural calmness over to a nearby alley and saw eight men yelling, slowly approaching a genetically altered boy who looked scared shitless.

"Here we go again..." Sync mumbled, unheard by Ajax's attackers in their bloodlust. "...Another person who needs saving."

It didn't take long before Sync was on top of the guy in the back of the group, a kind of stocky guy who looked like he could do something better with his life. He was holding a knife, and looked ready to push through the other seven and gut the kid himself. Sync didn't even notice the man as his head was slammed at the temple by Sync's hand, dropping him after a short yelp of pain.

That yelp, however, had gotten the attention of the others. They turned around and saw a pretty forboding figure standing before them, clad in a trenchcoat and looking like some sort of vigilante (and, in a way, he was). He looked pretty normal, except for his eyes. His right wa green, but his left was red, looking like it contained all his hate a rage. They saw that eye, as well as the look coming from it, and began to get scared.

"W-what the hell? What the hell are you doing?" One of them asked, unsure of what to think of this guy who seemingly came out of nowhere.

"Helping the kid," Sync replied bluntly, the calmness in his voice driving chills down the spines of all the men. "Any of you who don't feel like going to the hospital or an early grave, leave right now."

"...heh. Hehehe. HAHAHAHA! Are you listening to this guy, boys? Thinks he can take us all on. He must have delusions of fucking grandeur, or something!" the apparently new leader yelled, amused at Sync's display. It was obviously hiding his fear for the person in front of him. "C'mon, boys, we'll fuck up Mr. Hero before getting the kid!"

Hesitantly, two of the men leaped out, one with a metal pipe and the other with just his fists. Sync saw them as slow, and leapt up to the one with the pipe. With a look of surprise on his face, he quickly felt his wrists snap as the pipe was twisted around too fast in his hands. Yelling in pain, he went down on the ground, looking at his now-useless extremeties. The second man felt a quick blow to his ribs, hearing a loud crack as that happened, then another blow to the head before he collapsed to the ground, unconcious.

"Reconsider yet?" Sync asked, that same creepy calm in his voice, dropping the pipe while he asked the almost redundant question.

"FUCK YOU!!" the gang leader yelled, running forward himself and pulling out a large knife, charging Sync recklessly. Sync let him swing a couple times before his right forearm bulged just, and two blood-stained, bone-like blades shot out through the skin near the wrist, blocking the leader's knife.

"I told you to leave, so just do it before I go further that knocking you out," Sync growled, scaring the leader into drawing the knife back and thrusting again. Sync sidestepped the attack and swung his arm around in what looked like a blurred arc. Blood could be seen in the last half of the arc, and it wasn't long before everyone in the alley could clearly see the gang leader holding the stump that was his forearm. Sync had cut off the man's arm at the elbow, making blood spurt everywhere as the man screamed and ran around in pain.

"Go," he told the remaining four men dully. "NOW!"

Jumping a bit and realizing their situation, the four horrified men grabbed their injured compatriats and ran for the nearest hospital. They were lucky they hadn't pressed further, Sync would have killed one of them, then.

"You all right, kid?" Sync asked, a tone of unexpected sympathy filling his voice. The blade on his arm seemed to be sucked back into his arm at that point, almost like it had a mind of its own.

OOC: There ya go, Fuzzy. You've been saved. Nice doin' business with ya!

The proper authorities were too busy to be bothered with cleaning up some gang's mess. As usual, they left it to Machine Party Official Vigilante Force. Just as well armed and well trained as the police, but ten-times as ruthless and a hundred-times scarier. Within minutes of the call, black armored trucks emblazoned on their sides with the red Machine Party logo (a six-armed cross inside a thirteen-toothed gear) were roaring down the streets, sirens sounding. The trucks surrounded the bar, and Machine Party grunts in black power-armor stormed out, followed by an individual in black military coat and hat.

The force charged into the bar, pointing tazer-spears and lethal laser weaponry at the moaning gangsters. The circle parted for the officer, who placed a boot heel on the gang-leaders neck, and pressed down hard.

"He died at the scene," hissed the officer after the sickening crack of bone, "take the rest back to H.Q." The soldiers nodded in reply, and hauled off the injured and dead bodies to the trucks. The officer climbed back into the cab of one of the trucks, but before he could close the door, the owner of the bar rushed up.

"Hey!" he shouted, "aren't you going to do something about my bar? It’s a wreck!"

A pair of narrowed red eyes glared down at him from the darkness of the cab "That's the government’s responsibility. Were just vigilantes."

"What the Hell! I pay taxes; shouldn't they be doing something about this?"

"Try remembering that next time elections roll around," replied the officer, who slammed the cab door. The bar owner watched the trucks rumble off as he rung his apron in frustration.

Drakus walked past a series of several Machine Party vans that were heading towards the bar he had just come from. You had to admire how quickly a group who had nothing better to do could get to the one place where they were needed. It wasn't usually that way with the police force, and he admired and pitied the group of government owned vigilantes. He continued into the city's mean streets. He saw a group of punks running screaming out of an alleyway, a tremendous ammount of blood leaking from one of them. He ran over to the alley way, seeing two figures towards the back. One of them looked like they were a human spliced with a bat of some sort, and they were either naturally ugly or spliced to an illegal level. The other person lloked like a white-haired human who was unarmed. There was also a severed arm on the ground, along with a large ammount of blood leading out from the alleyway. He stepped forward, his hands in his coat pockets.

"What happened here? Identify yourselves." He said quickly, his hand moving to one of his throwing knives, just in case things got edgy. No pun intended... He thought to himself.

Skidding to a halt he only just managed to stop in time. "Sorry." He looked up at the Lizard guy, shook his head and sighed. "Sorry" This time it sounded sincere. " I was being chased by some spliced guys, guess i lost em for the moment."

Looking around he saw a large trail of blood and several figures at the end of an alleyway. "what happened here?" directing the question at the lizard guy.

Fabron was exiting a mechanincs shop, she had had problems with some of her systems, including trouble with the display screen in her left hand. Looking at it now, she saw the screen light up in welcome and then go to a schematics display and a list of all the repairs to her functions. She scrolled through them, checking everything when...

A guy who looked scared stiff ran headlong into her and bounced off. She stood perfectly still and looked coldly but not menacingly down at him. "Watch where you're going." she said. He glared up at her about to retaliate but her eye flashed red and whirred, he yelped. "Not another one! No more fucking machines!" He got up and ran off, screaming about cyborgs. She tapped her mechanical eye and the whirring stopped, "That wasn't supposed to happen..." She walked in the direction the man had come from. She soon came to the entrance to an alley, there were two figures at the entrance looking at something within. She called out "Stop scarin' the fiszzzzzt!" She closed her eye and fizzed for a second, then straightened up and swore. "Dammit! They were supposed to fix that!" She looked at her hand again and started pushing buttons furiously, ignoring whoever she had just yelled at.

Brian was leaning against a wall, on the second story, letting his cloak cover him completely his left hand seemed to be tapping out the beat of an unknown song. However only the man known as the Digeratti knew what he was doing. And what he was doing was monitoring the information networks of the city, looking for something fun. Switching between various sources, police transmissions, emergency calls, and the private sector. It looked like it had been an interesting night elsewhere in this not so fair city, with robberies, bar fights, and other such amusements, but unfortunately he had just missed the fun, or so it seemed.

With a sigh, he continued browsing muttering to himself. When suddenly he heard a voice, and a distinctively mechanical sound that caught his interest. Lowering himself into his normal crouching position he bounded off the fire-escape and proceeded in the direction of the sound, down the back alley, past two sour looking men who had been observing him since he had 'aquired' some money from in a game of a chance. Hey it wasn't his fault their loaded dice 'malfunctioned' (a clever trick really, adding a nearly invisible, high density spray on gel applied in that would counter the weight already inside the dice, and make the rolls go in his favor,) around a corner, finally arriving on a main street and standing face to face with the mechanical woman.

Ajax's face contorts into a mask of rage. First he'd broken his guitar, then he'd nearly been killed by a group of pure-breed supremacists, and finally, after being saved form them by this strange guy with white hair, he finds himself facing what appeared to be two lizard mixes and a cyborg, as well as some other crouching thingy which had just magically appeared. Well f*** being helpless. SOmeone was going down.

Ajax takes a huge breath and lets out a supersonic screech that's precisely calibrated to throw off the chemical balance in the inner ear, kind of like a flashbang grenade. The supoersonics disrupt sensors and causes disorientation in the organic life forms.

As he stumbles, the larger of the two reptile mixes moves involuntarily towards ajax. Adrenaline pumping through his veins, Ajax sprint towards the large creature and leaps. While in mid-air he spreads his "wings", catching enough air to whip his legs up at a velocity high enough to knock the wind out of the big lizard. He quickly darts back, grabs Sync by the hand, and pulls him out of the alley, past the still dazed cyborg, reptile, and thingamabob.

IC: Sync stumbled a bit after being stunned by Ajax's screech, only to feel himself being tugged by the shoulder not long after. Sync honestly could have avoided gotten through the situation somehow, but this proved to work, too. They didn't have long to recover, anyway, considering that lizard guy looked formidable enough to recover just as quick, if not quicker that Sync.

"Ugh, hold it, kid. I gotta catch my balance," he almost ordered. He hadn't felt any pain from Ajax's sonics, but the effect had gotten him just the same. "God DAMN that was loud..."

After stopping, Sync faltered a bit, then regained his composure. Blinking for a couple seconds and then shaking his head, he walked forward slowly, and felt he was ready to keep going on his own.

"Move. They won't be too far behind."

The bat hybrid near the far corner of the alleyway screeched in response to Drakus' question, at least, that was the way he had seen it. The screeching wasn't pleasant to the ear, and the reduced maximum volume he could hear probably helped it, but the komodo hybrid's legs felt supspiciously like gelatin underneath him. To top it all off, the bat hybrid ran up to him and kicked him with both feet in the solar plexus. He let out a hissing gasp and fell to his knees, not even bothering to make a grab for the two who were escaping. He felt like if he let go of the ground, he was going to fall and hit a wall or something. He closed his eyes and let his balance come back. In his experience, hybrid's animalistic natures made them more sporadically behaviored, but generally they were more survivalistic. Regardless, he was going to have to file out a report, and "details unknown" just didn't sit well with him. He stood up, nearly falling again as he fully extended his tail to get a signifigantly larger ammount of balance. Those scientists knew what they were doing. He ran after the two out of the alleyway, spotting the two stopped, the other one resting, probably to catch his balance. Drakus' head was swimming, but he sped up anyway, his shoulder catching a wall as he drifted off to his left, making a dull clang as his arm connected. "Please stop! I'm not going to hurt you, just explain what happened!" He said, pushing off of the wall and running after the pair. The second one seemingly recovered his balance and began running as well. Drakus no longer felt the ground sway under him after a second or two, and he made a mental note to cover his ears the next time that guy screeched. He could tell he was gaining on them slightly, and ran with every last bit of effort in his body.

Glancing behind him, Ajax spots the larger of the two lizard hybrids chasing the white haired man and himself. He quickly calculates the distance between the large lizard and himself and realizes he has no chance of escape at his current speed. He looks to the white haired man and quicjkly determines that he's not built for speed and concludes that their only hope for escape was a diversion.

Ajax signals to the white haired warrior to continue running as he drops back and behind the larger humanoid. With a burst of speed he takes two steps and leaps atop a nearby vehicle, using it as a launch point to get airborn. He catches a thermal from a vent in the stret and banks rapidly towards the large splicer, hoping to catch him unawares and distracting him from the white haired man so that he could escape escape.

Drakus grabbed him by the shirt with his right arm, shouting to the other fleeing person. "Hey, quit running. I just want to ask you some questions. Don't make me force you to stop." He shouted loudly, drawing a throwing knife with his left hand. He didn't have time to ask this guy why he had been fleeing with him just then. All he knew was that he had to stop the other guy before he got away. It was a mystery why the bat hybrid had jumped at him, but he was on his guard.

This was a rather puzzling, and awkward situation for him, who was use to being able to deduce any situation he encountered. So he sat out to deduce it, pushing himself upright so he was sitting with his legs crossed he reached into his many pocketed cloak and pulled out what appeared to be a crumpled piece of paper and a pen with a little multi-colored feather on the end.

Then a thought strikes him, there had been four other people in that alley besides himself and the white haired dude. The robo-chick, the crouching thingy, and the two lizard thingers, if the one lizard thinger was chasing them, then where were the other three?

Sync stopped, turning around in time to see Ajax get stopped mid-air, flying into a wall because of it. If the lizard guy were with the law, he would have killed the kid for trying to attack him, maybe saying it was in self defense. This one, however, just wanted to know what had happened. Maybe he could reason with him in some sort of way.

"Wait, kid. Don't do anything else, we'll be fine," Sync told the spliced boy. Then he walked up to Drakus in a manner that showed he wasn't trying to harm him. "I'm sorry about earlier, but I think the kid was just acting on instinct. As for me... Well, let's just say I don't want to be found by anyone."

He could tell that, after saying that, the lizard's interest in that would have peaked, so Sync tried his best to change the topic.

"Er, yeah. Anyway, what had happened was a group of supremacists were trying to kill the kid. I went in to help, they got scared of me for some reason, tried to attack me, and I had to defend myself. As for the guy's arm getting cut off... I'll admit I do have a concealed weapon." Making sure to still look like he wasn't going to attack, Sync let out his bone blade. Across town and some time later, more Machine Party vehicles were closing in on a museum- a museum Kat was intimately familiar with. The cars were more personal this time, and mostly officers, including the one from the previous raid, exited them. Yellow tape was spread across arches and around entrances, getting around them was like playing a Hellish game of limbo. Inside, at the crime scene, officers were dusting for finger-prints, photographing the scene, and interviewing the guards. The officer from the bar raid entered the crime scene, and saluted an obviously higher ranking officer by raising the palm of his hand and saying: "Deus ex Machina!"

The more decorated officer responded in kind. "Deus ex Machina. So, Felix, how are things going for you lately? Anything exciting?"

"Hardly," hissed Felix, who looked none-too pleased, "ever since we put down the November the 3rd protest, all that we've had to deal with are your run-of-the-mill common crimes. I just got here from cleaning up after some gang-battle in a bar."

The senior officer nodded sagely. "Yes, yes, putting down the November the 3rd protest probably broke the Liberal spirit. You know how reliant they are on 'people power'. As soon as they think the people aren't effective anymore, they start singing a different song- a song to the tune of brown-nosing."

"Yes, and we hardly get the recognition we deserve for our work now," muttered Felix in reply, "Speaking of which, what do we have here?"

The two officers approached the display stand where the stolen article- a diamond- once sat. The senior officer spoke: "Stolen diamond, significant weight in karats, particularly flawless. Took place between 6 P.M. and now, with three- no, four guards incapacitated."

Felix inspected the area around the diamond-podium. "Look at this security! It’s so positively shoddy a child could have stolen the diamond right out from under their nose. No bullet-proof casing, no over-head lasers, cameras connected to outside sources, and I don't doubt someone fed them a loop- for the love of --! They even have an air-vent right over the diamond! They might as well invite someone to steal it from them." Felix turned to a lower officer. "You there!"

The officer snapped to attention. "Yessir! How may I be of service, Sir?!"

Felix pointed to the vent. "Get some scanner-droids up there; see if they can't find something our thief left behind. This would have been such an easy job, I can't imagine any criminal getting cocky and sloppy and leaving behind something that will incriminate them."

The younger officer saluted. "Sir, right away Sir!"

The Line on the computer screen was filling up, Too slowly for Kats liking.
"Transfer complete" flashed across the screen, Grabing a cloned mobile Kat rang one of her banks to confirm the transfer.
Noding her head in approval kat hoisted the small bag containing the diamond to it's new owner.
"Nice to do busness with you" Kat shot at the busnessman as she left the building.
Walking down the street Kat ran thru the operation in her mind checking to see if she had made any mistakes..... No not that she could remember.
In street clothes now Kat decided a nice meal in one of the Classy resturants would be a nice finnish to her evenings work.

Drakus' reptillian features couldn't hide his surprise. "Bone blades, huh? I suppose you didn't pay to have that done..." He shook his head. "As far as I'm concerned, you got away and I was unable to provide an adequate description. You, on the other hand, my batty friend, I am going to need a DNA sample from." Drakus said, walking over to the stunned hybrid and pulling out his personal assisstant. He tapped a few keys and a small tray sprang out. DNA tests were pretty common, often done on hybrids who didn't have ID. "As for you over there, I will get back to you in a moment." Drakus said, pointing at Dakeryas. "Please prepare to give me a description of the encounter for filing." Great, so now I'm just an ordinary policeman. Drakus thought to himself. "C'mon guy, just a hair or something off your tongue." He said quietly to the bat hybrid.

Drakus was eying his PA's screen when he heard a loud thud in front of him. looking over the small machine, he saw that the hybrid was out cold. "Hmm, must've hit him harder than I thought." Drakus said to himself. "Subject 50% human 50% fruit bat. Nonhuman status confirmed." He read aloud from the PA's screen. "Well, he probably needs someone to take him home. You with him?" Drakus said to the mysterious guy with the bone blades.

"Yeah, I guess I am now. The kid didn't seem to have a home, though, so I'll take him in for a while." Looking down at Ajax, Sync decided it was for the best. After what had just happened, he would probably be a huge target. Sync himself probably wasn't safe, but he was able to move on rather easily.

"Thanks for the help, sir. I didn't think there would be anyone nice left in the world after all the shit I've been through." Picking up Ajax and putting him on his back for a piggy-back ride, Sync turned to Drakus briefly. "Have a nice day, then."

With that, Sync walked off toward his apartment, grabbing Ajax's money-filled hat along the way. It had been a long time since he'd had anyone over that wasn't helping to cover his tracks, so this actually seemed kinda nice. That was, of course, if the two of them weren't tracked down by any of the other supremacists in the area.

Kat looked at her plate, The tuna's aroma filling her nostrels, Sometimes the dna spliced into her was a pain, other time it was a god send, Kat took her distinct love of tuna as one of those things her dna made her like, Given pure human dna she was sure she'd hate the fish.

The other people in the resturaunt sat in couples or groups, Be it a romantic dinner or a busness one this resturaunt catered to it.
Kat scanned the room, Over to the right sat the mayor having dinner with a large and various crowed, The most noteable was Victor Tabinache.
Victor was a legitamet busness man, Well! on the surface anyway, underneath all the big busness and charities he was one of the largest crime lords this city could know.

Kat knew this mainly because of the fact she had done a few "jobs" for him, Continuing the scan she was able identify a few other "Legitamet" busness types, Not to mention a few starlets who were regulars of the resturaunt.

The smell getting too much for her Kat started her dinner.

Brian looked over his calculaions, double checking everything, licked his finger and held it up to check wind speed, befre finally squeeling in glee. He then stood up, straightened his cloak and said in a rather formal tone"Eureka, this is an interesting discover. However one sohould not let his findings to be blown in the wind, or released to the public in certain situations. Information such as this one could be a danger if the wrong hands obtained them."

He cleared his throat, gave a sweeping bow then proceeded to eat the paper in a single gulp, "And delicious too." He placed the pen back into a pocket on the inside of hs cloak. Glanced around, and cleared his throat, before deciding he was bored, so he returned to his normal crouching position and bounding off like a frog.

Back at the museum, police procedures were wrapping up, and all the low-level officers were packing up and returning to their respective crime-labs. Felix and the senior officer were reviewing the surveillance footage, with a significant amount of head-shaking from Felix. They were interrupted by the officer Felix had requested to investigate the air-shaft above the diamonds former resting place.

"Sir!" said the officer, saluting smartly.

"Your results?" replied Felix.

"Sir," began the subordinate, "I found a hair- one hair. I ran a DNA check, but it’s badly damaged. I can only determine that it belongs to a woman with around 30 percent Panther genetic material."

"Around 30 percent you say? Over or under?" was what Felix asked.

"Like I said Sir, there's too much damage to the genetic material to determine. There is some garbage-DNA, stuff that can't give me a composite image, but if we compared the hair's DNA with a suspect's, we should get a definite answer. Shall I pull up a warrant for all the panther gene recipients in the city?"

"Yes, proceed with that."

"And if their alibis check out?"

A sadistic smile crept onto Felix's face. "Then declare open season on everyone matching the profile with a percentage higher than 30."

"Yes Sir!" Another salute from the minor officer, and he was gone.

The senior officer patted Felix's shoulder. "We better get going; Party-Leader Garacaius is holding this year’s biggest rally, and we don't want to be late."

Together, the two men departed, driving away in the shiny black Machine-Party vehicles.

"Miss Rominov" The voice was smooth and husky at the same time.
"Mr Tabinache" wothout looking up Kat new who it was, Her eye drifted upwards, Standing flanked by two of the biggest guards she had ever seen was Victor, He gestured towards the chair opposite her, She nodded and he sat down across from her.

Pushing her plate away, Her mind working in several different directions at once, What did he want, Was she dead, How could she escape? All these ran into her head at once.

"Kat! My dear you look positivly ravishing" The complement did nothing to ease her, "How many times have i told you to call me Victor"A smile crossed Kats lips, So this was going to be buisness good, She allowed herself to relax a little.

"Victor.....How can i help you?" Kat inquired
"It seams that an auction house was robbed tonight" Victors smile was still on his lips, Kat however found herself tensing up, Was it Victors place? She'd checked but turned up nothing.
"The party that turned up afterwards it seams found a Hair." Kat frose at that, She always wore full body suits to stop just a thing, Yet she'd screwed up.
"Damn" Kat mummered.
"I thought so" Victor commented, "However it seams that after it got back to base a fire broke out and the hair was destroyed, Along with any data they'd gotten from it".
"How awefull" Kats face relaxed though now she new she'd owe Victor.

One of Victors guards stepped forward and handed Kat some paper.
"Do you recognise that?" Victor asked

Opening the paper Kat read:
Date: Twelfth month, eighteenth day, 5008th TRE
It seems that I have made it back from that other world with my life and most of my body. One of those hideous creatures ripped my arm right out of the socket as I ran away. My Gens have already stopped the bleeding, but now I only have one arm and I'm using it to type this message, my last will and testament, and sending it over the Global Web to announce what I saw.

A massive temple, with Errata written all over it. I will not leave the site of the portal because I am fickle, and I belive that the Errata I saw is too. My own ingrained Errata came out of me, transforming me back from my powerful and lither form to the human I once was. That body it gave me was just a shell, and I had lost myself. I had always wanted to write, and so I shall leave you with a poem.

He who finds it has lost it
The birthplace of the first gods
The birthplace of the passing of ideas
Keep your heart steady as you stare into the abyss
The first is the last and the last is the first
He whose sight is weak has a weak heart and soul
Ashes mean nothing to a fool
A final calling of the name of the key shall lead you through the maze
There you shall find the most powerful change of all

Maybe that's why I because an Errata hunter, I can't write!

-Bevill Sagrach

Kat had heard of this on the news, She also new that there were more people hunting for the treasure than were in this city.
"I have convinced the Mayro to put some of his people with mine and go find it." Kat didn't like where this was heading, "I've decided that i'd like you to go." Victor stared at Kat waiting for a reply.

Kat new Victors rep if she refused after he had saved her bacon then she wouldn't make it down the street alive.
"I would love to" Kat smiled
"You will ofcourse be well payed, More than any other job you've done for me" For some reason that didn't ease Kats sinking feeling.

(OOC: Sorry for the delay, my comp died, then was resurrected as a zombie.)

Drakus watched the possible experement carry the bat-spliced kid away. He had broken another of the laws he was supposed to enforce, but it didn't matter much to him. He felt a sort of strange comraderie with these outcasts, and he usually let his temperment guide him. His thin tongue absentmindedly flicked into the air, giving him a faint scent of the city's artificially clean air and bits of dust and blood, probably the hybrid's. He turned swiftly and walked in the opposite direction, adjusting his trenchcoat for no particular reason. He had a feeling that neither of those two were going to stay out of trouble in West Heimdall.

After a few more hours of relatively uneventful partrolling, he returned to the police HQ where he had taken up temporary residence. He spent a few hours filing reports, ate a rather tasteless meal provided by the station, drank a shot of warm whiskey, took off his shirt and turned on the television. he put up his clawed feet on an overturned wastebasket with a pillow on top of it. He picked up a sealed bag of pork rinds he had started on the night before. He held the back with his left hand and pulled them each out one by one with his right hand. He hated tasting adamantine whenever he ate one of the rather tasty pieces of junk pig meat. He pondered why he had referred to it as that instead of "pork" as he clicked the television from TBC (Triidian Broadcasting Company) to the local news.

Kat stood there watching, Watching as the spicer in front of her delicately pushed one prok rind after another into his mouth, The Tv blared in the background. Drakus had been siting there for the last twenty minutes stuffing his face, No wonder he haden't senced her entrence.

"And i thought it was only Dohnuts you coppers ate" kat stepped into the large lizards sight a smile playing on her lips.

Holding up a freshly bought bottle of scotch, One which cost more than the poor officer could afford, She poured them each a glass.
Kat could see the questioning look on Drakus's face, "Long time no see my old friend" the last word saundered from her lips, Long ago they had helped each other out of a few tough spots. But that was back then, Much had happened since that time and visits like this one were few and far between.

"Have i got a job for you, and with the Mayors seal of approval wouldn't you know".

Ajax, bouncing gently on Sync's back, lifts his head from the pale man's shoulder and glances about the street. seeing that it's empty, he wriggles off of Sync's shoulder and stands in the street, trying to assess the damage to his wings as well as his ribs, of which at least two were broken in that last encounter. After checking his injuries, he stops and takes a more detailed look around the street. He was now on Keel Ave., that was almost 20 blocks from where the lizard dude decked him. Sync must have carried me all the way here, he thinks to himself, what a beast. Ajax walks over and briefly hugs the pale killing machine before he remembers why he had been on the street looking for money. His stomach rumbles loudly, and he looks apologetically at Sync, hoping the larger man would offer him something to eat, due to the fact he'd lost his money hat... and his guitar, "Chit".

"You do know breaking and entering is against the law, Kat? I would arrest you if I was just a common cop. Luckily for you, my night patrol went fairly well." Drakus said, pondering how the hell she had gotten into police HQ and setting down the bag of pork rinds as the woman brought out some scotch. "I do appreciate the booze though. Nights just keep getting colder around here." He downed it in one long drink. He felt his body shivver in reaction to the bitter drink, then a warm, melty feeling set in going from his stomach outward. "For the record, I can't stomach sweet things, and donuts don't ever come filled with meat." He continued as he set down the glass. "I'm just surprised you have a government job for me. They usually end up actually telling me what they want me to do, on occasion." He said, his tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth slightly. "So, what is it?"

"Um... your welcome," Sync said, surprised by the sudden hug. It wasn't long after that he heard Ajax squeak something, and then he realized that he'd left his things behind. Except...

Pulling out the money-filled hat from his trench coat, Sync watched as Ajax's face brightened up. "No need to thank me, but you should stay at my place for a while. The two of us might just be big targets at this point, and I can get you away if something happens."

Sync looked down a couple blocks away at his apartment complex, wondering if he might have to move because of a bunch of supremasists instead of his creators. That would be something new.

"Oh yeah, if you need to, call me Sync... And I still don't know your name, so why don't you tell me on the way up?"

"They're sending a crew after that Errata that's been blareing all over the the place" before Drakus could answer Kat continued.
"And i need atleast one person i can trust to watch my back, So i got you and a few others i know on the team" Kat florished her biggest smile and slightly battered her eyes, She knew that Drakus wouldn't fall for it.

However the piece of paper with the Mayors signiture on it would, She hated to do it that way but it was an option she would use if Drak declined the offer. Pouring both herself and Drakus another drink she awaited his reply.

Dakeyras walked on through the night. He hadn't had a good night's sleep for weeks something on the very edge of his senses kept telling him that something was going on, something was going to happen and soon. He had been to his apartment and found it cleaned out. It looked as though the men he had met had been there first before their failed ambush. Fortunately he'd lived on the streets for a while and he carried everything important on his body, harder to steal that way.

He thought back to the events of the day and for some reason the meeting of Drakus the huge lizard stuck in his mind. The guy seemed like a nice sort, a little on the quiet side but that suited Dakeyras. Dakeyras wandered down the street and into a side alley. Thinking about Drakus only further reinforced the feeling of imminent danger. Dakeyras decided, he would go out and find Drakus. It wasnt as though he had anything better to do.

Accessing his Datapad he discovered that the local police station was not far off and he decided that that would be the best place to start looking for Drakus. Walking swiftly through the shadows Dakeyras reached his destination some 25 minutes later. Fortunately the station was one that was open at all hours and Dakeyras decided that he would go by the law. At least at first, Database hacking had been part of his training during his youth and had only been improved by his street living years. Entering the station he went up to the desk and asked the man there "Is there a Drakus at this station, im unsure of his rank." The man grinned "Well there could be depends whos asking."

Dakeyras rolled his eyes. Of all the front desk guys in the world and he had to get this guy. " Well i spoke to him earlier today and he said i should see him later, well it's later!" He figured that the guy wasn't friendly to Drakus so his lie wouldnt be checked. The guy on the desk grunted and said "well why didnt you say. His office is upstairs on the 3rd floor, feel free to head up there." Dakeyras wondered briefly what he was going to say to Drakus. "Um hi for some reason i've been sensing danger and for some reason i think you are in some kind of imminent danger" didnt seem to sound quite right and would probably get him locked up. He shrugged and figured he'd cross that bridge when he came to it. Dakeyras made his way upstairs and knocked on the door which simply had Drakus written on it.

Brian was bored, this is not a good thing. When Brian gets bored he does one thing, find the most dangerous, complex, and difficult challenge he could and conquer. Currently nothing was peeking his interest quite as much as the vague clue that was suppose to lead to the most powerful errata ever. The internet was buzzing with the rumors. He might as well join in the great hunt.

However he couldn't such for it stuck here, now could he. He needed a ship, and while he had little qualms with stealing, finding a dangerous, distrustful, seedy crew with a mysterious background was so much more daring, dangerous, and challenging, and that was exactly what he wanted after all.

Now to do it in the stupidest, craziest way possible. Reaching into his coat he pulled out a large marker with glow in the dark ink, a piece of cardboard, and some string. In big bold letters he wrote "EXPERIENCED TECHNICIAN LOOKING FOR MYSTERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CREW SEEKING THE KING OF ERRATA. MUST HAVE DENTAL BENEFITS." Cutting two holes in the board he thread the string through it and hung it around his neck. He stood up cleared his throat, and screamed his message as loud as possible.

Then he began to walk down the street, nonchallantly.

Ajax looked around Sync's small apartment and nodded slowly. The apartment matched the tale man almost to a tee. The walls, white and austere, seemed to lend no feeling to the rest of the room, not that there was much feeling to add to. The remainder of the room could be summed up quite accurately with a single word, spartan. The room, in addition to its white walls contained a white, upholstered couch, a small wooden table and one end had been turned into a kitchen, which was almost entirely made of whit linoleum. Ajax had the distinct impression that Sync did not put much value on his home, possibly because he was always moving.

Ajax turns to the lone window in the room and through it spots a man walking down the street in the middle of the night wearing a home-made looking sign. unfortunately it was too dark to tell what was written on the piece of cardboard. Ajax turns to Sync and beckons him to the window, pointing out the sign-wearing man and throwing a questioning look at Sync.

Sync walked over to the window and looked out, spotting the person Ajax had seen rather easily. A glow-in-the-dark message -- which was hard to read from the floor the room was on -- strapped onto his chest, and walking around shouting his intended message in a way that was hard to miss. It sounded like a waste of time to Sync, in all.

...But then he got an idea. If it looked like he was going after that huge Errata that was all over the news, it would be a good cover for him and Ajax to get away from their current situation, and Sync's "buddies" could cover any tracks the two left behind with ease. Even in a rush, this would be an easy move.

"...I think we're set," Sync muttered, lost in thought and wandering off toward the phone.

Twenty minutes later, Sync had everything ready. He'd made all of his quick phone calls and the apartment would be up for sale soon enough. Sync would be long gone with a new friend tagging along, and his meager belongings all in surprisingly light bag.

The two quietly made their way along the street, following Brian's obvious trail, and eventually catching up to him. Hanging back for a moment, Sync thought up a good thing to say and went at it.

"Hey, uh, you wouldn't happen to mind the two of us tagging along, would you? We're pretty good at what we do, so I don't think we'd be much of a burden."
