I know this game is older than time, but I just found a copy in my local retailer's bargain bin and I'd like to finally get to play it. I installed it and got the XP compatibility patch, but when I try to run the game, neither the videos or the start up screen play. I can hear it, but that's it. Does anyone have a way to help me, or am I screwed?
Thanks in advance.
*EDIT*
I think I should have posted my system specs first...
Intel 2.0 GhZ Processor
GeForce FX 5500 PCI 256 mb RAM
512mb system RAM
Realtek AC '97 audio.

You're far overqualified, as far as I can tell.
I played it with a system matching yours except for the GeForce card, and it played 100% perfectly, with compatability mode engaged. I don't think I even had to install a compatibility patch.
BTW... how much would you be interested in for it? I only got to major Dark Materia plot point before I had to give it back....

I haven't played FFVII at all.
God I must be some sort of abomination to this site, shouldn't I?
But thanks, I'll try that. I just found my old GeForce MX 4000 and I'll see if it can run with that old card.
BTW, might want to check wither Amazon, ebay, or one of those sites that sell abandonware discs.
Thanks though.

Meh.
Hmmm... have you tried running Comp. Mode for Windows 95, with 800x600? I think that's what I ran it for.
Mmmm.... m....mmm...
Oh, and try running it without the patch in that mode. That's about what help I can give you. Good luck.
