Sure is. Nice comic.

Fighter "working smart" is a worrying prospect. But if it results in hilarity, then so be it!

For fighter, the impossible is merely insanely difficult. All hail Fighter. I hope they do get some new supplies though. It was at this point in the game where the last really good buyable armor and weapons should/could have been purchased, if not a bit earlier. Everything else is going to be found, looted, or plundered.

Folding infinity into...itself.

Right, leave it to Brian to give Einstein a synaptic hernia.

Fighter is officially a genius to be able to do things that Red Mage says are impossible.

Really, I'd like to know why RM is upside down in panel three. I think Fighter's revelation cause a localized shockwave of anti-gravity, and because Thief is posing when he sees him, he isn't affected (RM isn't, so he goes fwaff-fwip-fwam).

...Hey, he can bend the laws of Physics to his will - what's keeping him from generating nigh-impossible gravitational anomolies?

Fighter has Gravity up by his head, and hears it calling him "daddy".

EDIT: My bad, he did this way back in 490 (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=041211). ...Which further proves my theory correct.

oooh, my ribs hurt from stiffled giggles. This is fighter at his best. In his defence you can fold up portable holes in dnd.

and I think red mage is upside down because theif barged through him.

I love Thief's new habit of instantaneously displacing his teammates and leaving them askew upon the ground. Ninjas need pause for no man!

I still see a lack of Thief reprimanding Fighter.

Hmmmm. What does this mean?

Or will Thief show his displeasure in the next comic?

This also shows why Fighter shouldn't be left alone with anything valuable. Why, oh why, didn't RM realize that?

Who else but Fighter?
*Canned laughter*

I'm suprised RM hasn't began maiming Fighter for losing all those magic items.

...I wonder if Thief will pull a BM? I mean, if anything should provoke him into a bloody stabbing spree it would be something like this.

Why should Thief be angry? Have you already forgotten that the Very Gullible Insurance Co. is directly adjacent? I'm sure there's a clause somewhere that accounts for your valuables being sandwiched into an infinite singularity of unspace.

That was the most "Fighter" comic for a long time.
Great work.

i'm surprised RM was so careless with all these items which he usually cares so mych about!
they "stuffed it in a crate" and he left it with FIGHTER!
poor Red Mage is getting arrogent, thinking the world is his oyster with his newfound power... how wrong he is...

The events of the past series of comics have actually led me to believe that RM is the dumbest Light Warrior, he just masks it very well.

I think the irony here is that Fighter said that he "Worked smarter, not harder" (great quote), but then he ended up putting a lot of effort into trying to fold the portable hole into itself. This in turn leaves the other Light Warriors with the same work (or more) as what they started out with.

Actually, I'm quite sure that's the case.
Thief most probably thought it all out this far in the first place. I mean, he gave RM a list, of which we've never seen the contents - for all I know it could've been the most worthless items, about which, of course, RM makes a lot of fuss -, he then explicitely ordered Fighter to carry the stuff and moved BM out of the way, probably to prevent BM preventing Fighter to do stupid stuff, like he does.
And it worked! Fighter has not let him down and made the stuff disappear. I'm sure he'll go to the Insurance company now with a fake list, describing precious artifacts, RM will be silenced to prevent him from saying stupid things, like he does, and they'll get the stuff they need.

Afterwards BM will be boggeled by thiefs intellect, but likely not before he killed fighter for his stupidity.

Also I could be wrong :)

BM can't kill Fighter.Apparently, nothing can kill Fighter.Kary couldn't, BM's stabs couldn't...Besides, he can just use cover to cover himself and that'll work perfectly well since he's Fighter.Physics?Bah, who needs them?

Maybe they'll have to fight the Spot to get their stuff back.

Ahaha! Aha! Nice one. Fold a portable hole into itself. Yeah, that's been attempted many times in various shows and cartoons. By the way, does the term "munchkining" bring back any memories? It does for me...

"I dunno. I heard him say something like 'Munchkin overload'."

"Physics are just for weak people who can't pound reality into submission."

Oh Fighter, always with the helping! You could say he's thinking outside the box. But he probably doesn't know what box that is. Maybe he put the box in a bag of holding in a hypercube in a black hole in a portable hole that he folded out of existence and headbutted until it broke. (In that order) A few levels more removed from consentual reality and you'd probably find freaking Black belt. :)

Am I the only one wondering what Theif thought Fighter did? Or was it generic?

BTC
05-13-2006, 04:52 PM
okay, first of all, i love fighter (in a totally hetro way o.~).

it has already been said by BM that BB was a fighter clone and i dont think anyone argued with him. Also, sephrim i think the thing that worried thief was fighters definition of "smart thing". which as we all know does not hold to what most would consider logical, smart, or even possable in a universe where the laws of physics apply (given the physics of 8-bit world seem to be more bugs bunny than issac newton).

In addition to making an insurance claim, I think Thief may simply steal the stuff out of the portable hole. I mean, anyone who can steal a class change from the future has to be able to steal items from a formless void, right?

Oh, cool. You met The Fat Man, Brian? I am envious. Jealous, even. You lucky bastard.

And, to be on topic, comic good, but with a plot full of holes. HAH! I am sooo witty.

Only Fighter.

Fighter is officially a genius to be able to do things that Red Mage says are impossible.

That's the power of his stupidity. Don't get those mixed up.

BB was able to warp the laws of physics because he was too dumb to understand them. I think Fighter and BB are related...:D

Demonlink2
05-14-2006, 06:30 PM
RM doesn't understand physics (There may be an airship in here because there may or may not be a spark plug in the box), so Fighter can bend physics by confusing the insane RM. On BWO's note, BB=moron...(he got lost in a straight hallway for crying out loud!)therefore paradoxes are easy to get into...

good job Brian, I was in stitches. The comic definitely improves with age.

I think Fighter and BB are related...
Well, BM did say that it was weird that people mourned BB so much, seeing as he is an obvious rip-off of Fighter. Frankly, I agree with him. I only found BB uniquely funny when he did insane bursts of violence ("I think it was this ninja. Or was it this one? It's so hard to tell after you've beat them to death with their own limbs").
