My apologies if this has been discussed before, but I'm re-reading the archives and I noticed something interesting. Back in Corneria, each of the characters had a mysterious dream regarding their past.

Black Mage's dream (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010925) and his role as the nexus have been further expounded on (though not fully explained) by Darko/Magus during the class change.

Fighter's dream (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=011003) was the first appearance of Dr. Swordopolis, who we've seen several times since, though his motives still aren't entirely clear.

The meaning of Thief's dream (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=011005) was revealed during the Light Warriors' stay in Elfland.

Red Mage's dream (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=011010), however, remains something of a mystery. I suppose it helps to explain why RM is the way he is, but there have been no references to nor explanations of the dream. Heck, even Garland's dream (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=011012) had a point to it.

Someone pointed out not too long ago that we know very little about Red Mage's background, and what we do know is possibly just a delusion planted in his head by Thief. He has mentioned the order of the red mages several times, though, and his dream seems to reinforce the fact that they really do exist. I'd be willing to bet that sometime in the future, we're going to learn a lot more about RM, and we may even get to meet the Order.

Can you imagine an entire order of Red Mages? Every meeting would be like an exercise in atrocities against science. Though I suppose not all of them are necessarily as...special...as our RM.

Red Mages specialize in both levels of magic, but not all levels. However, it does not bear much importance to them, so long as they have access to magicks of decay and magicks of healing. Then there's their ability with weapons -- much better than the other mage types. They look upon being a convenient and versatile warrior. Red Mage is, most certainly, one of them. It seems that they are tied with the rules of Dungeons and Dragons because it, in a way, defines their style of life. Or at least Red Mage is. Having done deep study they somehow bend the rules a bit using character sheets and dice...

It's not surprising that there's an order of red mages when you consider the existence of the Order of White Mages, and, at the very least, an Academy of Black and Summoning Magic from which BM was expelled. The Order of Blue Mages can be found within that smoking crater on your immediate left.

Meeting up with Red Mage's clan would certainly be an enlightening experience (ding!). I imagine it to be some sort of hideous amalgam of every D&D, sci-fi, comic book, and Star Trek convention ever seen.

The mere thought is absolutely terrifying.

Maybe Megahedron was talking to him in that dream.

I think it'd be fascinating. To meet with several Red Mages who partake in the same practices of strategy, battle, and thinking would be a delightfully interesting experience. Of course, that is, if you know what they're talking about.

Maybe the voice was Vermillion Mage, the founder of red mages, which RM spoke of.

Possible, but wasn't Megahedron a result of RM's "3 point hallucination flaw" ?(Seen here (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=060214))

Yah, but that's what Red Mage says.

Yes, Megahedron may be real, and Red Mage thinking he isn't may be the result of the hallucination.
Quite ironic.

Ah, yes. The same Mage with thoughts of parental abuse implanted by Thief.
