If they do it right, it'll be fine. One main character, not a cheesy "full cast" of characters to support each class. That's not the way the books do it, that's not the way they should do it. The fact that it's being made by Legendary, a production company that knows what it's doing, and the fact that they will apparently have a LoTR budget is an exciting prospect in it's own rite.

Either way, I'll be there opening night, if it ever happens. Been waiting a while for this.

Yay, another unnecessary video game movie!

Well, I would actually go see it on the condition it's like 15 minutes of this prelude to what could be an epic adventure, and then for the next 2 hours and 45 minutes they farm and get killed by chinese slave warriors screaming 'LOLOL!'

I wonder how they would do 'LOLOL!' on the big screen...I'm sure they'll manage, with a LOTR budget.

My thought exactly. When I read the headline, I said, "It won't be good unless the characters are ganked by an undead rogue in Stranglethorn Vale."

it'd be fun to see all the references they try and make. hope it's decent though, WoW definitly does have a wonderful wealth of lore to it.

It's undoubtedly going to be a comedy WoW has so much tongue in cheek humour that I think my tounge will never leave my cheek again

... Why do you keep calling it a WoW movie? It's a WARCRAFT movie. I see no reason to keep impelying the narrow focus of the movie is Blizzard's MMO.

E3 06: World of Warcraft headed for Hollywood

New York Times reports that Blizzard plans to announce its PC MMORPG's jump to the big screen on Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES--World of Warcraft has been rumored to be jumping platforms to the Xbox 360 for some time, but if The New York Times is correct, the next jump it makes will instead be to the world of film.
Okay, that makes three direct references to World of Warcraft and not Warcraft III. Is that good enough for you?

I believe that statement should be directed towards Uwe Bollshit.

"Live-Action Warcraft Movie Coming to Big Screen - Frost on 5/9/06
Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures today announced that they will develop a live-action film set in the Warcraft universe. Legendary Pictures has acquired the movie rights for the game universe, and both companies are now focused on translating the Warcraft experience to the big screen. Read more about it in this press release."

Taken from the WoW front page. Notice that it doesn't directly reference WoW? Making a movie about an MMO would be disastrous and retarded.

Just great... A bunch guys is full body makeup singing "the internet is for porn" would've been better.

This is yet another thing to make me pissed off at Blizzard. I think it could do fine, but I'm talking about something else. STAR-FUCKING-CRAFT! They don't seem to have the decency to actually focus on StarCraft. Now if tomorrow they suddenly announce StarCraft 2, I'll eat my words. But I just wish they could go back to StarCraft. Some of you may say that StarCraft: Ghost is Blizzard's next StarCraft. That only proves my point. Delay after delay after delay after fucking delay and now hiatus. They don't even seem to care about their best universe anymore.[/rant]
Back on topic: I know for a fact that I'm going to watch this movie if it is made. Legendary doesn't sound familiar, what other movies have they done?

They did Batman Begins, I don't recall what else though.

Well that does instill a lot of confidence in me about a WarCraft movie. I just hope they don't try making it part of WC lore.

Leeroy has got to be the star feature in it, hehe
