spoilers:
even though its early on in the game, my favorite part is sora's fight with the hydra

Hmm. I'm not sure if this should go in it's onw folder, but there is one thing I am sure of:

JUMP ON IT'S BACK!
JUMP ON IT'S BACK!
JUMP ON IT'S BACK!
JUMP ON IT'S BACK!
JUMP ON IT'S BACK!
JUMP ON IT'S BACK!
JUMP ON IT'S BACK!

Thanks for reminding me of that, by the way.

"GET ON THE HYDRA'S BACK!"
"GET ON THE HYDRA'S BACK!"

Yeah, that sucked.

When I first used Riku and Sora's Limit Tech I nearly shat myself. Especially in the "Ken-And-Ryu" knuckle-tap they do at the end. Basically a really cool, "Like old times, right, buddy?"

Deep Dive was surprisingly disapointing. But the Keyblade fight between Roxas and Sora in Sora's mind fucking owned. And I can't feel right unless I also mention when you fight Axel as Roxas.

Oh come on, it's not even a contest.

"We totally owned you lamers."

The game was just downhill from there, but it's pretty hard to top that.

When I beat a certain jerkwad flying silver haired fucker we all know and love/loath to our graves who shall remain nameless.

Oh, and the scene after that was pretty tight.

But my fav? Hm...Probably when Roxyboy got out both Keyblades right before wailing on Axel with em. Pretty fuggin tight. Or maybe Tifa's entrance. Or maybe when Mickey went all "AH PWN UZ!" when Goofy kicked over. Or when Stitch got Sora and Co sucked into Tron. Or when Riku turned back to normal. Or the ending. Or the time on the beach.

(What the fuck was that beach suppose to be anyway? Or the dark city for that matter?)

Or about a million other scenes. I love it all! :D

This sounds like as good a place as any to ask this question -

So, which would you say is less of a pain in the ass, finishing Jiminy's Journal to get the secret ending, or just restarting in Proud Mode to get the secret ending?

I haven't even finished the game yet, cause I was at that Organization jerk who turns you into a dice and then I found out there's a secret ending, and I'm like well shit, do I really want to bother figuring out this guy who's turning me into a fucking dice, just so I can go and get the stupid not-secret-ending?

Proud Mode is better for getting endings of secrecy.

Thought fighting Sephy is still a bitch as ever.

As for Luxord, he's not too hard once you figure out all the stuff he does. Read GameFaQs. They'll tell ya.

My favorite parts were when Goofy 'died' and the entire final battle, especially working your way to the floating final area and when Riku and Sora had to fight alone.

It took me so embarrassingly long to figure out you could jump when you're in dice form... But basically, my strategy for that was "run around cursing under your breath and just mash the X button." :sweatdrop

I'm not finished yet, but I think so far my favorite scene was when Sora 'n' Axel kick Nobody ass together, after which point Axel sacrifices himself to let Sora continue on. Poor Axel. And you know, I kinda began to feel sorry for the Organization after starting the World that Never Was level. Yeah, they're evil and bring about doom and destruction, but all they want is a heart so they can be whole again. (I think. I didn't play CoM, so I'm just going by what KHII tells me.) And the cool Organization members all give speeches before they die, to make you feel guilty for killin' em. :shifty:

My least favorite scenes: Anything involving Atlantica.

I kind of liked the Atlantica stuff.

Not sure what to make of that, really.

... The whole thing did sort of underscore Sora's role as the King of All Mary-Sues, though.

... Okay, follow-up question: Do I go ahead and beat the game now in normal and watch that ending, and then go through and beat it again in Proud, or would it be worth it to just start the whole fuckin' thing over in Proud, just to get the whole fix in one go?

The Atlantica thing would have been better if the voice actors could actually sing.

Also, my favorite moment would be travelling through kindom hearts with Riku, cuttin' shit in half and smacking buildings around and the laser deflection orgy in the last battle that made Mace Windu look like a bitch.

Also, as for Lux, (spoilered for people who would rather figure it out on their own) every time he attacks you it's pretty much a roulette game. When he does the die you have the x and o moving through your menu. You have to select the box with an o. The faster it's moving the more time you gain.

The little card one you have to hit the triangle button when the green thingie shows an o.

And the whole set of cards you have to pick an o on each menu thing to get a full set of 'o's.

Once you figure the games out, he's ridiculously easy.

Also: those same games are used by the gambler random encounter, and you can get the nobody shield from them by beating them a few times--which is one of the best, if not the best, shields for Goofy.

Oh, and you can fill out Jiminy's Journal without starting over, so it's not a big deal that you didn't find everything yet. I don't think it's possible to irrevocably miss any of the things for a journal complete.

It's not that I have to start over to fill out Jiminy's Journal, it's that I have to fill out Jiminy's Journal (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic) to fill out Jiminy's Journal. Where as if I start over in Proud Mode I can get the ending just by getting all the keyholes or whatever and not have to grind irrecoverable enamel off my teeth fighting through an unconquerable hell of megabosses and minigames.

I'd suggest proud mode. The difficulty level is pretty decent, if you thought/think normal was to easy.

That said, the entire sequence from the rematch with Demeyx (or whatever the water/guitar guy was called), all the way through to the end of that section. (This includes the fight with the Org 13 member, losing Goofy and watching Mickey flip out, the team ups with the FF characters, getting Goofy back, the 1000 heartless battle, and the revelations that happened (they are using Sora to release hearts).

Really, I feel that's the best part of the entire game except for the end.

I didn't particulary have a problem with the Atlantica world.

Until I found out it had no reward outside of journal completion. I was playing on Proud. Then I got annoyed. Worth doing it if actually was for something in game besides that, but otherwise, it's completely tacked on and unnecesarry filler.

That card guy was weird. He was one of those boss fights where you're really confused about what's happening, and you end up winning the fight in a few minutes without ever really understanding.

But yeah, I, too, must brave Jiminy's Journal for the secret ending, and that Penny Arcade wasn't too reassuring.

It was hilarious though.

I'm going to complete the damn thing anyway. Just cause I can. And I fucking WILL.

IF another game doesn't grab my soul before hand.

I really didn't think completing Jiminy's Journal was that hard. GameFAQs had a pretty decent guide to completing most of the difficult ones and a lot of the 'impossible' tasks are just overblown. The only one I really had trouble with was the Poster thing, but it took me about thirty minutes to get it down. After that, the collecting of all synthesis items was a pain, but having all the Lucky Lucky items and abilities equipped does wonders, plus an assload of patience.

Besides, I'm such a completion-whore I'd probably force myself to finish Jiminy's Journal on any setting. I'm not proud.

Battle Between Roxas and Axel
The Battle for Hollow Bastion (Goofy's "death", 1000 Heartless etc etc)
Battle between Sora and Xemnas (Deep Dive)
Mental battle Between Sora and Roxas

Yeah, as CmP said, the Journal wasn't too hard. Of course, what we (my brother and I, who did the game together) did was complete the game, see that we had 89% of it already done, and just decided it'd be easier to do it than start a new game up.

I did all the minigames, he did the tournaments, we both did the Synthesis.

I also had to brave the Atlantica (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=194) levels.

But, the hardest part was probably the poster game. 30 seconds is hard, but if you aim everything right, it's not undoable. Start by running to your right and gliding across the gap. Jump across to your left, and run along the awning. Go along the wall, turn the corner, and the instant you slap the last poster (on the ground) glide towards the next posters, jump up the buildings, hitting each poster as you go, and, if I remember right, you should have 18 posters, if you hit all of them. Don't. Skip one poster, and glide across, because there are three right there, and you can just hit them instead. The reason I did this was because my game kept on glitching and going around a corner and hitting a poster, instead of letting me hit the one I was going for.

I think that's how I did it. But, on topic:

My favorite part of the game would have to be battle 49 of the Hades Paradox Cup. Sure, it was tough at first, but I eventually started playing with them, and had a hilarious time playing death baseball with Leon. Also, Cloud's new nickname is "Zippy" in my household because he's so damn fast.

Least favorite part? The freakin' 6 hour long tutorial. At least said tutorial had a cool ending, though.

Except for getting a material for the Ultima Weapon and a magic upgrade...

I didn't think all of Atlantica sucked. Just the parts that didn't inolve Ursula's song...

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

Oh and helpful tip for those trying to complete the journal.

You don't actually have to press any buttons on your second attempt at the Atlantica songs. (When the journal says, "Try it again.", after the story based ones.) Just start the song, mute, and go make a sammich.

Mmmmm, sammich.
