A minor question about titles

Okay, sometimes when people make a thread, they misspell a word or accidently send it without the full title. When they go back to change it, all they end up changing is the title of the post, but not the thread itself.

So I'm going to ask... Why aren't the members allowed to change the titles of their own threads? Is it because people change them willy nilly, or because there is no option to change it?

Edit: Changed the title of the post but misspelled the title of the thread.

Because it's considered moderating a thread, i.e. a thread function rather than a post function, and regular users are restricted from such activities. I might look into a way to make it possible.

(This is, of course, assuming your problem is not limited to just yourself? Do other people who are not mods have this difficulty?)

I've done this myself a few times. Last time I did it I partially corrected it with like 15 seconds of starting the thread and it somehow changed both the title of the first post and the thread. Not sure how that one happened but when I noticed the second mistake I couldn't edit the actual thread title further. So the ability seems to be there but only if you catch it really quickly.
