If you've read Tamora Pierce's books, who do you like better, Alanna or Kel? Personaly, i can't decide. I love them both. I salute those woman out there who stick to what they want to do no matter what people throw their way.

Do the characters in "Circle of Magic" and "The circle opens" get a play in the favor?

Not that it matters, 'cause Alianne is the best. She stars in the books "Tricksters choice" and "Tricksters Queen."

I haven't actually read the "Circle Opens" and Circle of Magic" yet, but they are on my list of books to read. I take it they're really good?

They're not as good as her "Protector of the Small" or "Immortals" series, but they're still nice to read.

I haven't read her books in awhile though...*goes to read them again*

I like the Lioness series the best (that's the one with Alanna, right?). Especially the first two books. Its been a while since I read them, but I remember Alanna as one of the coolest heriones in fantasy.

The Protector of the Small wasn't as good. It was kind of creepy and I didn't really care for Kel. As for the Circle of Magic, they were interesting and pretty good.

I really need to go back and read Pierce's books. But, if you like the Alanna books, I recommend Marian Zimmer Bradley's "The Mists of Avalon". Its the female perspective of the Arthurian tale and quite good though long. I haven't read Pierce's new books - Trickster or something? - are they good?
