View Full Version : Avatar Arena: Toastburner B vs. MC43
Raiden
04-26-2006, 02:23 PM
The two fighters stand in the arene. It's built like the roman Collisseum, but has lakes of water surrounded the edges. Spare axes, gladiuses, and lances poke up from the ground in random spots.
Raiden and Rhiya sat in the Emporer's balcony, wearing the leaf crowns of all.
(The arena is the Roman Gladiator arena. MC43 won Arena advantage. The arena is lined with water for his use.)

((OOC: I ran my random character select program, and my first form is the Leafblower maniac))
Toastburner found himself in a roman collisseum-style arena, but with water on the field.
Water definitely doesn’t help me, so it must be an advantage for MC43 Toastburner thought to himself.
Still, all things considered, things could have been worst. He was in his default form, that of the Leafblower maniac, which was also one of his more resilient forms. It was also a form that featured hands, so it allowed him to use the weapon he had been given before he was thrust out here, the glowing sword. All in all…I’d rather have my leafblower…or have the sword and be in my Wandering Swordsman form…but I don’t have that form for this…blast it, why did I limit myself to four forms?
Still, he had the hope that some of his memories from the Wandering Swordsman form he had used in the past would give him a passing skill with the glowing blade he now held. He swung the sword a few times, both to gauge the blade and to relieve his nervousness. He hadn’t really been around MC43 too much, and as such, didn’t really know his powers or abilities. Still, this is a good form to gauge it…I just hope there’s a spawn point in here somewhere…but I guess I can’t bet on that…
For a brief moment, TB entertained the thought that MC43 didn’t know about Toastburner’s respawn ability…but he quickly dismissed it. Given how often I’ve been killed around here, he has to know about it.
TB continued to get comfortable with his weapon while he waited for MC43 to show up.
A drawbridge lowered and a man dressed in a Yellow Robe walked out into the center, his face hidden by the hood he had on. He took note of the place as he walked in, Hm... there's water around me. This will certainly help me and my ice spells. It's too bad the area isn't cold; having the water source certainly will make it easier, but I'll have to cool it down which will take time.
He looked across the arena as soon as he finished walking over the drawbridge and saw who he was going to be fighting. Hm... perhaps I should have done a bit of research before I came into here. It's been so long since I've been a regular here that I don't know what he's really capable of. Ah well... as sarge likes to say, "Eyes open... fingers on your triggers... and we all go home in one piece."
He looked down at the glove that was given to him, Hm... to be quite honest I wish I had my amethyst staff with me, but I guess this'll have to make due. Apparently one good swing with this thing and it'll be all over.
"Hail there!" He called out, raising his hand, "Are you the one they call Toastburner? My name is Rhu... I shall be your opponant. Good luck my friend." Yes he was there for a fighting competition, but that didn't mean he had to be rude about it. Besides... SHE may be watching... he looked around the arena nervously.

"Hail there!" He called out, raising his hand, "Are you the one they call Toastburner? My name is Rhu... I shall be your opponant. Good luck my friend."
Rhu? TB thought to himself. Ah...not everyone's avatar has the same name as the user.
TB raised his glowing sword in the salute that he'd seen in movies in such. "Well met," he said, "and no hard feelings should the fight go you're way."
Right...I don't know his abilities, so the smart thing to do would be to play it defensive. On the other hand, if he's strong, he can wipe me out if I'm doing that, and I still don't know if there is a spawn point in here or not. The best thing to do would be to try to catch him off guard.
"I hope you don't mind if I make the first move." TB said. He didn't give Rhu time to answer, however, as he came out of the salute and immedately charged his yellow clad foe.
Perfect. He thought to himself. Now I don't have to stall for time and get him to make the first move. He's going to do the honors for me.
He shifted his weight mostly to his back leg and brought his hands up, open palms in a defensive stance.
(For the battle, I'm going to base my actions on the roll of a d20 die, just to make things interesting for myself and I have to limit my moves to chance. You are welcome to act as you will, this is just to help me fight this battle.)

Well, he didn't outright blast me...that's a good thing, I suppose. Judging by the fact he's wearing robes, he's got to be a mage of some sort...that means it should be to my advantage to get in close.
Toastburner while, he charged, shifted the glowing sword between his hands, hoping to give himself a small advantage in that Rhu wouldn't know what hand he was going to strike with...despite the fact it was painfully clear he was right handed.
Of course, if he was weak at close range, and if he is a mage, he would of blasted me on the way up...I am do a rather direct attack.
Despite that, TB felt confident about going in close. The primary advantages of his Leafblower Maniac form was strength and endurance to damage. Like the chainsaw maniacs of movie fame, this form of TB could take (comparatively) lots of damage before he went down.
Toastburner fought the desire to go for a flashy jumping attack. Once I’m in the air, I’m committed to a single course…easy pickings for a spell. As such, Toastburner stayed on his feet, and closed quickly with the yellow clad fighter. As he closed, he arced out to the right, so he came in at a slight angle. As he closed, he swung the sword in a horizontal slice at Rhu’s torso.
His eyes move... he's scanning me. He's formulating plans to try and beat me.
(Obvious slash, attempt to backstep, a successful roll >4. D20 roll = 3. Fail)
Rhu's eyes were too busy watching his opponant's to realize that he was going to be attacked. He saw the blade just in time to get a quick step back, but not quickly enough without the blade cutting through his robe and his stomach. It wasn't a severe wound, but it was enough for Rhu to grab his side and wince in pain. From here on out, he would have to keep on his guard. He knew he was already on the defense, so he took his hand off of the wound, letting some blood drip out onto the ground. He would have to wait until he could get a second to try and push him away.
Bringing his hands up again, this time he kept his eyes on the blade, and not his opponant. (+1 roll on next defensive action)

TB almost stopped his attack, he was so surprised his attack actually landed. What the...? Wow...maybe he spends so much time on magic he doesn't have any hand-to-hand skills! No, wait...there is still that nagging fact he has yet to blast me. He has to have something up his sleeve...but I can't give up on an advantage because of "what might" happen.
Toastburner brought the glowing sword back in a slice the other way, this time with a slight upward angle, again, aimed above the bloody cut already in Rhu’s robes.
This time, with a careful eye on the blade,
(Obvious slash, attempt to backstep, a successful roll >4. D20 roll = 11+1=12. Success!)
He lept back, finally getting some distance between him and the blade weilder. Ok, time for the offensive. He brought his hands together and started to summon cold air around him, he pushed his plams towards his opponant...
(Cold wind push back, easy spell, a successful roll >4. D20 roll = 10. Success.)
A good portion of the artic wind rushed off of Rhu and towards his opponant hoping to get more distance between, and a little more time.

((OOC: Sorry for the wait...my home computer died...again.))
The wind hit Toastburner like a train, and he began to slide backwards.
COLD! That's cold! Oh, man, I just lived through winter, I don't need this.
TB found he began to slide backwards at an increasing rate, as the artic wind began to put a layer of frost on the ground. TB readjusted the grip on the glowing sword, and plunged it into the ground, using it as an anchor to stop his backward progress. Well, he thought to himself, At least he's finally starting to act like a mage.
Using the sword as leverage, TB sprung out of the corridor of wind, but had to leave the sword in the ground. Unarmed as he was, however, TB knew the key to victory was to stay close to the mage. He dashed back up to Rhu, attempting to close the distance before the mage redirected the wind, or before he had time to unleash a new spell.
OOC: Damn... I was hoping you weren't gonna post and edit mine to get another spell in, however, you reacted, so I'll have to make it quick.
Rhu took the time he had to let the wind do its job and focus on himself for a second. He knew the longer he let the wound fester, the more harm it was going to do than good. Turning his attention to the gash, he used some of the already swirling wind to his advantage to try and heal the wound.
(Curing Breeze, easy spell, a successful roll >4, swirling wind +1 to roll, D20 roll = 12+1=13. Success!)
Some wind stopped flowing foward and instead circled around him and into the wound, cleaning it out and sealing it a bit. It wasn't a permenant fix, but at least the wound was no longer bleeding, and most of the gash was reduced to a minor cut. A little time and he'd be back to normal.
His eyes shot up though when he noticed his opponant coming at him through the artic wind. Knowing he wouldn't have the time for another spell, he brought his hands up in a quick effort to try and divert the attack.
Toastburner B

TB noticed that the wind did indeed change directions, but it wasn't aimed at him. Crap. Had I know he was going to do that, I would of kept the sword!
Toastburner came lumbering forward at a dead sprint like any self-respecting powertool maniac would...except, of course, Toastburner lacked any powertool, or any tool whatsoever. Instead, Toastburner lined up for a shot to the gut of Rhu, hoping to hit the cut he had inflicted eariler.
Hand to hand combat? Now this is something I can do!
(Grab and counter, intermediate move, roll >7, D20 roll = 12. Success!)
Rhu grabbed his wrist and pulled it to the side, safely away from his cut, while bringing his other fist towards Toastburner's ribcage.
Toastburner B
05-02-2006, 03:07 PM
Again, like any good maniac who is usually equiped with some kind of powertool, TB took the blow...which is to say, he was somewhat surprised to see that a mage could make with the hand-to-hand combat.
Great, just my luck! I get a mage who uses monk as his secondary class! TB muttered to himself.
For a split second, he considered running back to get the sword, but decided against it. Even thought the mage knew hand-to-hand, close in, he wouldn't be able to cast spells, and chaces were that TB in his leafblower maniac form was able to take a lot more damage than Rhu.
As TB let out a small grunt as Rhu's attack hit, Toastburner lashed out with his foot, hoping to land a kick in the other man's gut.
Noticing that his foot was coming up and towards his stomach, he waited until his fist connected with Toastburner's rib, pulled back a bit still using the momentum from the previous attack hoping to push the foot away.
(Block and Counter, intermediate move, roll >7, D20 roll = 3. Fail)
He over shot the foot, but instead of taking the blow to the stomach, he exposed his good side, and recieved the hit there. Bending a bit to the attack, he stopped his hand, then reversed direction, hoping to back fist his opponant in the face.
(Physical attack, easy move, roll >5, D20 roll = 11. Success!)
His aim was moving right for the mark, as his mind was busy planning for his reacion as he awaited to see if his attacked worked or not.
Toastburner B
05-03-2006, 11:37 AM
Once again, TB let the attack land, and grunted as Rhu's fist hit his hockey mask, knocking it slightly askew. Right...this is getting old fast. Time to pick up the pace.
TB attempted to grab the front of the man's robes.
Rhu let him grab on to his robes, having a plan. He prayed that she was watching, and that she would help him in this minute of need.
(Luck check. unknown rate. D20 roll = 10. ???)
"Stop, or my mom will shoot!"
He waited for a sign, hoping that at least he might install fear into his opponant. "That's right! She's waiting up in the stands with a sniper, and she'll shoot if you continue to hit me!"
Toastburner B
05-04-2006, 03:42 PM
Underneath his hockey mask, Toastburner raised an eyebrow. "You brought you're mom? I wouldn't let my mom come within 10 miles of Raiden..."
However, he had successfully siezed the other fighter, so it now was not the time to worry about if Rhu's mom was a skilled sniper or not.
Toastburner lifted the mage by the robes, and began to sprint towards the nearest wall. As he neared the water that surrounded the battlefield, TB leapt, and with all his strength, hurled Rhu at the unforgiving stone of the arena wall.
Damn it! I was hoping that bluff was going to work! He watched as the wall grew on him faster and faster. He tried to soften the blow by cooling the water, and letting him literally slide off the wall, raising his hands up, he knew he had to work fast.
(Manipulate water and shape into ice. Hard spell, roll >14. D20 roll = 9. Fail)
The water started to move, and some was pulled out to freeze, but there just wasn't enough time to get enough of a barrier, and he soon found himself under a pile of rubble from the wall. He stayed down like that for a little while, feeling too much pain to move. It wasn't everyday that he was hurled into walls.
(Get up. Determination bonus, easy roll >4. D20 roll = 6. Success...)
Though the rocks were heavy on his back, he was able to get up on his two feet, slowly even though it felt like everything in his body was broken. Glaring up he decided it was time to take the offense. Walking slowly to the moat, he dipped his hands in. "Take this!"
(Ice daggers. Easy spell, >4 [+2 on roll for wet hands]. D20 roll = 4 + 2 = 6. Success)
Ripping his hands from the water, he tossed the water at him, a few of the water droplets thinning out and freezing into thin ice needles. Not excatly what he wanted, but it was enough to call an attack.
(Shit! Can I get a freakin' good roll somewhere in here? If not, this battle is going to end before the night is over.)
Toastburner B

Wow...he's awfully resilient for a magic user. TB thought to himself as the mage emerged from the rubble of the wall. With one eye on the mage, and another eye on the surroundings just in case his mom actually was out there with a sniper rifle (after some of the stuff TB had seen involving the other NPFers, it wouldn’t of been too big of stretch)
“Take this!” the yellow clad warrior said, scooping up a handful of water.
This is it! He’s going to blast me!
Toastburner covered his head with his arms, and waited for the attack to come.
He was not totally disappointed, as pain dug into his arms, belly, and lets, as if a lot of needles suddenly pierced them. Toastburner held his position, waiting for rest of the attack to come.
It never did.
TB uncovered his head, and looked at his body. Small needles of ice, already starting to melt, were stuck in his flesh. TB looked at Rhu, somewhat confused.
“Ow.”
That’s it?! That’s all?! he thought to himself. I mean…I guess I’m not really used to living after being hit by a magic attack. I mean…you know…it hurt…but I’m still alive. Is this all this guy has?
TB suddenly found himself being very cocky. Instead of attack, he began to remove the ice needles…leaving himself open to attack.
Ok... enough is enough. I need to get something going, and if this doesn't work, then I'm going to throw myself to the ground and beg for mercy... Once more he placed his hands in the water closing his eyes and focusing his energy in his hands. Please... I need this spell to work...
(Ice Avalanche, intermediate spell, roll >9 [+2 for wet hands]. D20 = 17 + 2 = 19. Success!)
(THAT'S BETTER!)
The powers that be must have heard his plea, for when he ripped his hands from the water and threw them into the air, the water from the moat seemed to be lifted and tossed over the head of Toastburner. The mass over his head seperated into many different blobs of water, which then started to solidify into vicious large chuncks of pointed avalanche-esque ice above his head, every single point glaring down at him.
And within a few seconds, they began to rain down on him.
Rhu grinned under his tattered robe as he began to sway a bit from the previous attack, and the spell he had casted. He jumped into the frigid water and closed his eyes once more.
(Baptism, intermediate spell, roll >9 D20 = 15. Success!)
The cooling water seem to envelop him as his wounds began to heal and his energy coming back to him. He walked out of the water, on the opposite side of the moat and watched what his opponant's next move was going to be.

((OOC: Okay...I'm just going to assume that there is a spawn point, since my respawn ability was approved.))
“Ah,” Toastburner said as the attack formed above his head. “That’s more like it.”
As the attack fell, TB thought to himself What the heck am I saying?!
Spikes of ice fell around him as TB attempted to out run the attack. Looking over his back, he managed to dodge the biggest chunks of ice as they fell upon him. Finally, he got back to where he had thrust the glowing sword into the ground. He turned into the attack, using the sword to slice the ice before they could hit him.
Finally, no more ice chunks could be seen. Panting, TB pointed the glowing sword at the mage in the water. “Ha! Is that all you have you –“
The taunt, however, was ended by a rather large chunk of ice that hit TB from behind. By “rather large” I mean “huge”, and by “hit TB”, I mean “buried TB is a cartoon-like fashion so that only his arms and legs stuck out from under the ice”.
And so TB died.
((OOC: Go go gadget form selector!
Result: Book ))
The world came back into focus. TB found himself looking down at his old body. “Well…that didn’t take long.” He thought to himself. “Seems I’m getting fast at respawning…probably because I’m getting so much practice at it.”
TB tried to turn to take a step towards Rhu…but found he had no legs.
He tried to bend his neck over and look down…but found he couldn’t do that, either.
Cripes! I respawned in the book form! …I must admit, I was rather hoping for Scar Kitty…oh well…I have to go with what I got.
TB hopped as well as he could until he was facing Rhu, and then yelled out “INVITE!”
From the sky came eight small, cartoonish forms: Toastburners Loyal Battle Monkeys (LBMs)…his only protection in his book form.
In this case, TB had chosen to summon 3 fighters, 1 infantry, 2 wizards, a witch, and a healer. Each LBM alone was only equal to a minor demon, but with TB coordinating the attacks, they were greater than the sum of their parts.
“Witch,” TB said, “he’s in the water over there. Try to freeze so we can trap him. Wizards, he seems to favor ice magic. Get your fire spells ready. Everyone else, attack on my command. Healer…heal as needed.”
The Witch stepped up, and began to chant. Hopefully, Rhu wouldn’t move before her spell was cast, freezing the water which he was now recovering.
His eyes opened in surprise as he watched several monkeys appeared from no where. Then started to quake a bit when he heard that he may be frozen in the water.
Oh no! He's going to freeze me in the water? I can stand that... it's the fire spells that have me a bit worried. Ew... fire... He shuddered at the thought of the heat plunging towards him.

((OOC: MC43...they ain't really monkeys. Loyal battle monkey is a term from the game Makai Kingdom...which is where I got my book avatar from.
For information on my various minions when I am in this form, refer to this page (http://nisamerica.com/games/MK/bonchara.html).))
The witch finished chanting her spell, and sent the blue bolt of freezing energy into the water.
"Alright, everyone stand by in case he makes a break for it. Oh...someone cast shield on me...I'm kind of a sitting duck, here."
The healer obliged and cast shield, giving Toastburner some protection in his immobile book form. Meanwhile, his other minions prepared to launch their attacks.
OOC: Op. Noted. Sorry for the wait, but things had to get settled down here. Now that I have a LOT of free time on my hands...
Rhu simply watched as the bolt of lighting struck the water and froze it around him. "Oh no..." he said out loud. "I'm now stuck in ice. Whatever am I going to do?"
Closing his eyes st chanted a silent prayer...
(Manipulate ice, intermediate spell, roll >9 [+2 for ice]. D20 roll = 12 + 2 = 14. Success! On another note: cue Wagner's "Carmina Burana")
He slowly lifted himself from the frozen prison, coated in what looked to be a suit of ice armor. It was a resonably thick layer of frozen material, and it looked like it would take a little to break. "Come now... you know my specialty is ice. Why would you make it all the easier for me? You've saved me the trouble of freezing it."
Placing his hands on the ice, he prepared his next spell...
(Ice daggers, easy spell, roll >4 [+2 for ice]. D20 roll = 15 + 2 = 17. Success!)
His hands seemed to melt into the ice, and when they arose, several sharp shards of ice were between his fingers. Crossing his arms, he thrusted them to either side, propelling several ice daggers in various and leathal directions.
Toastburner B

"How the heck was I suppose to know you were a ice specialist!" TB yelled back.
He looked over at the witch. Her primary attacks were ice based. Against Rhu, that would tend to be more of a liability than an advantage.
"Witch, DIMISS!"
The Witch vanished from the field.
Right...I can summon another LBM...but I might want to save it as a trump card.
The ice daggers rained down. The shield that was cast around TB proved it's worth, as most of the shards bounced off it, and those that did manage to break through lacked the force to get past TB's leather cover.
His LBMs on the other hand didn't fair so well. His fighters, knowing that his wizards were more important than they, used themselves as shields. One of the fighters took a solid hit, and vanished in a puff of smoke. Another was wounded, an the Healer ran over to treat the wound.
As the rain of ice ended, TB yelled, "Let 'em have it, boys!"
The infantryman aimed his chaingun and opened up on Rhu. At the same time, the two wizards, their concentration unbroken thanks to the efforts of the fighters, unleashed their fire spells on the ice mage.
Watching the leveling of the miniguns, he was confident that the ice armor would at least absorb some of the damage from that, it was the fireballs that were coming at him that bothered him. Thinking quick, he looked down at the ice pool in front of him.
Dropping to his knees, he placed his hands on the ice...
(Manipulate ice, intermediate spell, roll >9 [+2 for ice]. D20 roll = 15 + 2 = 17. Success!)
Shaking as his hands rose above his head, it looked as of the ice from under him was being pulled up like a curtain. Throwing his hands up, letting go of the ice sheet, he let the attacks hit that instead of him. The chainguns seem to pick at it slowly, while the fireballs did a good job of melting bits and pieces of it, one of them making a hole that Rhu could see through, but it was enough to stop the attacks. In front of him now was a thin piece of ice that could be seen though barely.
"You are a worthy foe my friend." He reached down to get his hands back on the ice to try and get one more spell out of it before he would have to move to another area.
(Ice Avalanche, intermediate spell, roll >9 [+2 for ice]. D20 = 10 + 2 = 12. Success.)
It looked as if he had enough ice to get the spell casted. Grabbing what was left of the ice behind the shield, he pulled it up and threw large chunks into the air, many of which formed into large sharp glacier-like things, and began to rain down over the team. Knowing that this was a used up area, he turned and started running along the edge for another spot to use.

"Aw, crap, not again. DEFENSIVE FIRE!!!!" TB yells.
The infantryman raises his chaingun and starts to fire on the dropping chunks of ice. The wizards began to throw up a screen of small fire spells, melting the smaller pieces before they hit the ground.
The two surviving fighters (one intact, the other healed by the healer), dashed in and grabbed TB's book form, dragging him out of the damage area. However, not all the LBMs were so lucky. The healer and one of the wizards vanished into a smokey haze as the larger chunks of ice hit the ground.
"Right. Fighters, charge! Infantry, give them so cover fire. Wizard, keep those fire spells going!" TB ordered. He considered using his last invite, but wanted to keep his trump card up his sleeve for a little while long.
The two fighters, one armed with a sword, the other a spear, charged Rhu as he tried to relocate. The infantryman once again aimed at Rhu, hoping to prevent the mage from being able to concentrate enough to fire off a counter attack at the charging fighters.
Ah hell... two melee guys coming at me! I'm good with my fists, yes, but I don't think I can handle two guys at once! Ok Rhu think... think! His thinking however was hampered as he watched the wall behind him start to be whittled away by chaingun fire. Ok... THINK FASTER!!
(Ice shot, easy spell, roll >4 [+2 for ice]. D20 roll = 17 + 2 = 19. Success!)
Still running, but leaning so that his hand hovered above the ice, he watched as a thin layer on the top melted away and start to orbit around his hand. More and more of it gathered until his hand seemed to form a ball of ice where his hand should be. Taking one moment to pause, he aimed and fired the basketball sized hail at the minigunner, hoping for the best.
However, this allowed the fighters to get that much closer to him. He patted his chest to make sure that the ice armor was in fact still there. It would help if he had to get into a hand-to-hand combat situation. To try and bide him some time however, he hoped he could set one more trap, once again running, he leaned back down so that his hand hovered above the ice.
(Manipulate ice, intermediate spell, roll >9 [+2 for ice] D20 roll = 4 + 2 = 6. Fail.)
The ice melted again and onto his hand, but when he threw the spell this time, instead of an ice slick as he had hoped for, he simply splashed some cold water in the fighter's directions. "Damn it..." he muttered under his breath, and continued running, although his body was starting to give out.

"Dang! Defensive fire...no, DODGE!"
But TB's moment of hesitation had proved fatal for his infantryman. The mini-gunner caught the chunk of ice squarely in his head, and he vanished into a puff of smoke.
Blast, that one was my fault. TB thought to himself. Time to take off the gloves.
“Swordsman: MOON SLASH!! Axeman: LE ROCK! Wizard, keep cranking out those fire spells!” TB yelled to his surviving LBMs.
At the order, the warrior carrying a sword leapt into the air. Once he reached the top of his jump, he began to somersault end-over-end towards Rhu. At the same time, the axe carrying fighter stopped, and raised his axe. Slamming it into the ground, he caused a chunk of rock, larger than the LBM to rise into the air. Catching it with the axe, the warrior hurled the large stone at the yellow mage as well. The wizard chanted and fired off another fireball spell as well.
Rhu took a quick note of all the attacks that were coming towards him. It would be hard to find the one spot close to him where he could dodge all three, but at the same time, it would be difficult to decide which to attack. He needed something big, but what was going to save him here?
He looked over to the ice next to him, and struck an idea. "It's going to be tough... but it may work." He threw himself on the slippery moat and began to roll on it.
(Manipulate ice, intermediate spell, roll >9 [+2 for ice] D20 roll = 12 + 2 = 14. Success.)
As he rolled along, a blue aura surround him as the ice seemed to melt and form the energy around him. Once he had gathered what he thought was enough, he used his shoulder as a sort of emergancy brake and threw himself into the air. Still spinning, the aura around him gathered into large ice spikes, much like his blizzard attack, but instead of raining down, they were fired off in random directions off of him.

The warrior who was going in to land the moon slash attack was caught in the onslaught of ice, and vanished.
The rock, however, was large enough to smash through the ice spikes that hit it, and continued on it's course towards Rhu.
My wizard isn't powerful enough to really do much, TB thought to himself, might as well clear up an extra space on the field.
"Wizard, dismiss!" TB said without his usual declaration to the world. Hopefully, Rhu would think that last attack pegged the wizard as well.
The ice had slowed a bit, but it wasn't enough to stop it outright, and it appeared that the fireballs had stopped too. I guess I hit two of them. What luck! Landing on his feet, he realized that the giant rocky ball of earth was still on a collision course with him. He quickly dove out of the way, towards the ice river.
(Dodge attack, intermediate move roll >9. D20 roll = 14. Success!)
Slamming against the cool frozen river, he slid atound to see the mound of dirt crash right where he was standing not a few minutes ago. Quickly raising to his feet, he brought his hands up in defense. I'm a little spent right now, but if he's the only one I have to worry about right now, I'll take a breather hoping that I can dodge his next attack.
