View Full Version : Avatar Arena: Phoenixflame vs. Ecurt

Raiden

The two fighters stood within their arena. This place was deep in space, on an asteroid that shot in continuous orbit over the planet. There was a large clear dome on the outside, and that was where the fight would take place.

The inside of the dome was nearly bare except for four obelisks that stood holding the clear dome up with a strange energy.

While Ecurt seemed normal, the strange energy holding up the dome seemed to be affecting Phoenix bot, her frame somewhat lighter.

At the very top outside the Dome, Raiden was sitting and watching. He didn't need to breathe, so it worked out well for him.

(OOC: Space Asteroid Arena. Phoenixflame won the Arena Advantage in the random roll. Phoenixbot has the ability to leap higher and faster than normal.)

It had been an ordinary boring day at school. The sun hadn't exploded or turned into a war machine, the oceans hadn't been flushed down the drain or turned into fudge, and he didn't even have to throw a boot at Mr. Viewtiful's head today. However, that all ended when the final bell rang.

As soon as he stepped out of his class several Space Ninja Pirates had jumped him and threw him into a sack. The next thing he knew, he was in his Undead Overlord mode and thrown into this arena, without most of his powers and items.

"...I have a feeling one of the NPFers is to blame for this. I just wish I knew who."

Phoenixbot however, had merely been casually shuttled over by one of the P.S.S. Isparalian's Manta-class passenger transport craft, and was feeling... well, feeling wasn't the right term, but she was operating at 99.87% efficiency.

Certainly enough for a little duel. Stepping onto the field some distance away from Ecurt, the android weapons-system cooly regarded the poor forumite, and initiated a full-body bioscan of her new target.

*Target: Ecurt.*
*Magical Girl Wage-Slave* *Wage-Slave Type [WS-T]*
*Vulnerabilities: Unknown. Assume Biological.*
*Engagement status: Incapacitate.*

Phoenixbot said nothing, she merely stalked toward Ecurt, her emotionless crimson eyes locked on the poor man. She'd noticed that she felt lighter, and her motor response servos had re-calibrated themselves to operate in lower gravity. Certainly an advantage, but she was only 82.98% sure that it did not effect Ecurt aswell. She'd need to be careful.

Ecurt, at this time, had his back turned to the robot, unaware of the danger that was approaching him. This was because just before Phoenixbot arrived a foam bat came out of nowhere and hit him. The sounds of her arrival were then drowned out by his own yells at the dome, glaring at the obviously invisible audience.

"I know you're hiding there! Just because I can't see you doesn't mean I don't know you're there!"

It was then, by some luck, he calmed down and turned around, in time to see Phoenixbot within a few meters of himself. Smiling, he raised his hand cheerfully and waved. "Oi, Phoenix, long time no see! Did the Space Ninja Pirates get you too?"

PhoenixFlame

Phoenixbot emotionlessly started at Ecurt, and didn't say anything. She just kept walking, but her primary emotion module managed a smile as she closed in. Ecurt might have noticed a tiny gleam in her invariably red eyes, something Phoenix herself did not possess.

"Oi, Phoenix, long time no see! Did the Space Ninja Pirates get you too?"

The android, now in assassination mode, warmly smiled and nodded in the affirmative at Ecurt, attempting as best as possible to lure him into a false sense of security. In fact, she moved forward and even extended her left arm to hug him.

And then, her right fist shot out at Ecurt's chest, crackling with reverse-polarity electricity to not only crush the poor man, but electrocute him aswell.

Instinctively, Ecurt twisted tumbled to the left just as Phoenixbot initiated her attack, barely avoiding the electric jab. Immediately rushing back onto his feet, he took a stance, bringing the foam bat in front of him in both hands.

Phoenixbot did her performance all too well. There was simply no way Phoenix would just walk up to him and try to hug him; unless, of course, Pyros had decided to play Cupid again-but he was sure he had locked the bow and arrows away where the Fire Deity would never find them.

"You know, Phoenix," he said, still not realizing it was the robot, "Whatever you think I did, I swear it wasn't me! It was Twiddy's fault! All three of them!"

PhoenixFlame

Phoenixbot stopped, and turned to look at Ecurt once more. Noticing her ruse had failed, she resorted to attempting to speak with him, even though her voice was somewhat lower and more mechanical than Phoenix's. Still, the android didn't suppose they talked very much.

"Oh, I'm sorry Ecurt. Twiddy, you say?" Phoenix responded conversationally, then saw the foam bat that the wage-slave had been carrying. It looked important, and perhaps even magical.

"Oh! Sorry about scaring you." Phoenixbot chuckled as best as her secondary emotion emulator could allow her, the voice seeming a tiny measure tinny and unsincere but more or less humanoid, "You found my foam bat! Hehe. Twiddy stole it from me, so you're probably right about it being his fault. Anyway, I'd like it back, if you don't mind."

Truce
04-27-2006, 06:41 PM
Ecurt probably should've noticed how odd Phoenix sounded in her apology. However, in his mind, Twiddy probably did steal the foam bat from Phoenix; Phoenix didn't have any reason to lie after all, did she? If anything, she'd probably help him get out of this place since he found her bat.

"If it's yours to begin with, I don't mind. Here!" Ecurt said, tossing the foam bat to Phoenixbot. "It probably can do something pretty cool, knowing the stuff you make all the time.

"You've got to let me see what it does later. Of course, that can wait until after we get out of this place. Hey-how did you get here anyway?"

PhoenixFlame
04-27-2006, 08:22 PM
Phoenixbot caught the foam bat in midair, and twirled it in a figure eight around her, testing it's balance and special properties, before attaching it in her sword-holster, which was empty due to the lack of her Vibro-Katana.

"Thank you, Ecurt." she said with a smile, "I arrived here on a Manta-Class Personell Carrier, after Raiden created this Arena for us to duel each other on for the pleasure of the rest of the NPF."

Phoenix locked eyes with Ecurt again, emotion disappearing from her face, "And I'm afraid I've got you at somewhat of a disadvantage now." with this, the android ran at Ecurt, jumping high into the air, extending her arms like a Gymnast doing a vaulting leap. It was a rather high jump of several meters, given the lighter gravity that Phoenixbot was exposed to.

As she fell, Phoenixbot began to spin slowly from air-friction and from the force of her leap, both of her legs pointed at Ecurt, toes-down. Moments before impact, Phoenix violently twisted her upper torso clockwise, sending her entire body in a high-speed spin, legs included as she fell toward her foe in a perfectly-executed corkscrew kick.

Ecurt was never one who stood around while an enemy performed an attack-this wasn't an RPG after all, and one was free to move when they wished how they wished (barring certain impossibilities, of course). However, this was a special case, for Phoenix's words had at first confused him and then shocked him, paralyzing his body until an instant before Phoenix's kick connected.

By then, though, it was too late to react. Her feet slammed into his chest and, due to the angle of her attack, knocked him onto his back with her on top. His wings managed to act as a shock absorber, dissipating some of the kinetic energy as if they were springs, but did nothing to protect his chest from the rapid rotation of Phoenixbot's body.

His shirt was ripped instantly, and he could feel her drill into his body. For a moment, his eyes unfocused then refocused, and grabbed her ankles, abruptly stopping her attack. Gritting his teeth, he threw her off him with as much force as he could muster, though not without noting that her body gave off no warmth.

As she landed gracefully on her feet a few yards away, Ecurt picked himself back up and chuckled. "So...that's the game we're supposed to be playing. I really am an idiot...to be fooled twice like that."

With his left arm wrapped across his chest, he stretched out an arm towards her, gathering energy for a counter attack. "I'm going to kill Raiden when this is over with, for making me fight a girl and putting me through this trouble," he muttered between heavy breaths.

PhoenixFlame

Phoenixbot was genuinely suprised that Ecurt hadn't moved. In fact, he'd not done much of anything besides throw her aside after she'd executed the attack. However, Phoenixbot realised she now had a weapon that could possibly be used as such, and without revealing any of her concealed fare of weapons. While somewhat unsure of the foam-bat's powers, to be created by Raiden must automatically mean that it was a pussiant weapon.

Leaping forward to interrupt Ecurt's attempt at a counterattack, Phoenixbot drew the foam bat from it's sheathe in a swift Katana-style vertical draw-slash, which, unfortunately for him, would probably catch Ecurt in the groin.

Out of all the NPF women, I was sure that it would have been Mauve who would kill me. Then again, maybe she was the one who signed me up for this.

Had she been closer perhaps Ecurt wouldn't have been able to get away. She was faster and more areodynamic and in better condition than himself, and she had the foam bat which he was sure would do something like blow him up once it hit him (ignoring the fact that it already had hit him once and did no such thing-after all, magical weapons tended to work in mysterious ways). However, even he could react before she closed the distance between them.

As soon as he saw her leap at him he jumped to the side, hoping that there was no way for Phoenix to change direction in mid-leap. Then as he landed on his feet he broke into a run, heading for the obelisk at the nearest corner of the arena.

Glancing behind himself to see how far behind Phoenix was (which, he had to admit, wasn't nearly as much as he would have hoped, and the lead he had would quickly be closed due to his injury), he continued focusing energy. He just needed to buy a little more time, and then he could start fighting back.

Phoenix slid to a stop as Ecurt fled, as she didn't really care to chase him down anyway. If he wanted to run, she'd led him run. He'd need to run a bit faster to survive, though. The android slid her foam bat back into it's sheathe as she did so, several red-lettered readouts flipping across her HUD.

"Target Acquired. Quantum Capacitors charged at 50%."
"Begin X-Buster Transformation Sequence."

A small crimson reticle fell over Ecurt's running form, tracking him unceasingly as Phoenix's left forearm popped open, the ten small panels making it up folding back like a flower. Each set of five began to spin slowly in opposite directions, and glow white...

Ecurt had a feeling he was going to die, but shrugged it off because in the NPF he always getting that feeling. They may not have been in the city limits, but this definately was NPF brand mischief.

Glancing behind himself again as he reached the obelisk, he gulped, noticing that Phoenix's arm looked strangly like, well, a beam cannon. He knew better though-chances were that it was a "Obliterate Ecurt's Ass" cannon. Even here he could hear it slowly charging up, as if...

As if the weapon itself was taunting him. Knowing Phoenix, it probably was.

The obelisk was too big to get around and use as a shield, so instead he kept his back against the wall and prepared himself for her attack. He just hoped that, when this was all over, Mauve wouldn't maim him too badly.

Then again, he could always blame Pyros.

Somewhere above the space dome, a small *pop!* was heard as Rhiya appeared in what looked like a bubble of some sort. Her limbs were all stretched wide to keep her in the middle.

"Hooee, I'm late sorree," Rhiya grinned as she looked down. Raiden flicked back wisps of his ethereal hair and waved nonchalantly.

"Nothing's happening so far," he said in a bored tone. Rhiya's grin widened.

"Really? Well... Let's make something work shall we? A little surprise?"

"If you insist."

"I do."

Rhiya pulled out a small remote control. On it was a bit red button. THE big red button.

In fact, it was the Plot Device. Lord knows how she managed to get her hands on it without CT's permission.

~~

A small, wet soap materialized suddenly under Ecurt's foot. Due to his current stance and being caught by complete and utter surprise, Ecurt's feet swept from underneath him and caused him to collapse into a comical heap.

On the other side of the arena, there was a near-silent *click* as the foam bat's button depressed...

And Phoenix's screen and arm was completely and utterly plugged/blocked by a wall of firm, fluffy white foam.

~~

"Now why did you have to go and do that?" Raiden asked, slightly annoyed. Rhiya shrugged.

"Just screwing with their minds... err I mean... circuits and minds..."

It was funny how the world worked sometimes. All the energy he had been focusing all this time was...gone. All because he had slipped on a bar of soap, and lost his concentration.

Only one person could give him this much troubled: Raiden.

It wasn't enough that he had to go crazy that one time and steal the Kurosen or hire Space Ninja Pirates to drag him to this arena to get his ass kicked by Phoenix. No...he had to do something like this too.

"...I'll kill him later," he muttered, picking himself back up.

Fortunately, it appeared that Phoenix was having some trouble. Hopefully, he'd have more than enough time to hide behind the obelisk.

"WARNING! FIRING APETURE COMPROSIMISED!"
"Initiating Emergency Shutdown Sequence!"

The panels making up the spikelike form of the X-Buster built into the skeleton of Phoenixbot's left arm ground to a halt, the energy built so far hanging in stasis, as Phoenix's personal defense-field was angled to prevent a catastrophic meltdown, rendering her temporarially vulnerable.

It was foam... White... Foam. Stuck in her beam-cannon.

"INCONCIEVABLE!" Phoenixbot stammered, as much as any robot could stammer. After all, it was foam! FOAM! She shook her left arm vigorously, trying to expel the foam...

------------------------------------------------------------------------

T'was about this time that Phoenix popped up into existance next to Rhiya, pointing at her menacingly along the outside of the dome.

Her mouth moved, but no words came forth in the vaccuum of space. She sighed, looking frustrated in a typical anime gesture of frustration, and then repeated herself telepathically.

"It's a duel! Don't you know what a duel is! No interferance!"

Having taken cover behind the obelisk, Ecurt leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. Focusing on recovering what he had lost, he took a deep breath and concentrated.

At the same time he wondered, in the far back end of his head, if Phoenix had any particular weaknesses. Unfortunately she had none he could think of off the top of his head.

This was bad. If only he knew how bad.

Rhiya Ravenwing
05-01-2006, 09:23 AM
"Hehehehe," was Rhiya's only response when Phoenix tried vehemently - with no avail - to voice her opinions about the duel.

"You did take the foam bat. It was bound to happen sometime. I just made it happen faster. Now get back in there and entertain us!"

As Phoenix grumblingly obliged, she could hear snatches of conversation.

"...bonus for using quote..."

"... more fun for everyone..."

"... eh what? Interfering is my job!"

By this time, Phoenixbot had managed to remove all of the foam from her X-Buster, which was still held in a state of stasis, it's energy charge filling the android's quantum capacitors, and being contained around the weapon's firing aperture by her own personal defense-field.

In fact, her saftey measures had afforded Phoenixbot the opportunity to walk around the obelisk for a better shot at Ecurt, and she did so... Menacingly walking around the giant structure, cannon-arm pointed toward the wage-slave as he struggled to hide behind the dome support.

Hearing Phoenix's footsteps, Ecurt immediately froze up. It appeared that whatever had been troubling her had been taken care of, and now she was back to trying to kill him. This spelled trouble for him-he had not yet fully prepared for his summoning, and if he waited any longer there was no doubt that Phoenix would appear and shoot him.

Thankfully, Phoenix seemed to like to inspire fear, taking time to dramatically walk around for a better position. It wasn't much, but it gave him enough time to change strategies.

...unfortunately, it meant that Mauve would not only kill him, but do so in a fashion that would make even Cthulu cower in fear before her.

~~~
In a burst of pink colored light, a small blond girl with two pigtails flashed into existence in front of Phoenix. Wearing a mauve colored sailor fuku, and brandishing a hot pink staff that ended in a glowing azure orb, the girl smiled and bowed before Phoenix. "Hi, I'm Sailor Mini-Mauve!" she said so sweetly that it could give diabetes to most people just by hearing it. "I've come to destroy you in the name of love! Oh, that rhymed!"
PhoenixFlame
Phoenix stared at Sailor Mauve. Unfortunately, she did not have eyebeams, but if she did, they would have vaporized the plushie outright. She served love. And she rhymed.
"Target identified. Terminate."
Phoenix raised her right hand, and a swordlike protrustion of eternium alloy shot froth from a slot inside her right forearm, creating a 26" long, 2" thick blade of flat yet sharp metal, riddled with small holes. What the holes did quickly became apparrent when the weapon erupted in flame.
"R-Heatblade active."
Phoenixbot punched her new heatblade arm at Sailor Mini-Mauve's gut, to run the little creation through and vaporize her at the same time.
It appeared that Sailor Mini-Mauve was a lot less stupid than her creator had been. At the first sign of danger (which, in this case, was the death glare the robot seemed to be giving her), she brought her Maiden's Staff of Mauve-Love™ in front of her. With both hands grasping tightly on one end, she was prepared to defend herself at the attack that was soon to come.
When Phoenixbot tried to gut the plushie of love, Mini-Mauve used her staff to deflect the blade to her right. Then, hoping that Phoenixbot would be off balance, she fell forward onto her knees and tried to sweep Phoenixbot off her feet with a low swing of her staff.
Meanwhile, Ecurt was focusing on summoning another plushie. He couldn't expect a single plushie to win on its own, after all. No...he would need to overwhelm her, especially since he was in no state to fight an NPFer himself.
PhoenixFlame
05-02-2006, 07:13 PM
Phoenixbot's heatblade may have been shunted to Mauve's right, but it was also Phoenixbot's left. She used this momentum to roll with the attack, flipping over Mini-Mauve's low-swung staff in a graceful aerial-cartwheel which, being mini, was fairly low.
Once flipped, Phoenix stepped behind Sailor Mauve, and brought her Heatblade up to the plushie's neck like the villian in a movie would to a prisoner.
Will Mini-Mauve block, Or will she lose her head over Phoenixbot's superior sword skill?
Truce
05-02-2006, 07:33 PM
A bead of sweat trickled down from Mini-Mauve's forehead. Shivering even though she could feel the heat of the blade, she couldn't bring her staff up to pull Phoenix's arm away. Then, she laughed weakly and said, "Even if I should fall, the power of love will conquer all!"
Before Phoenix could behead the magical girl plushie though, three kunai flew at her from above, aimed for the joints in her arm. Standing upside down from the dome was an Asheth plushie, dressed from head to toe in hot pink ninja robes. From behind her see-through veil, she could be viewed smiling by those with extraordinary vision-expecting Phoenix's reaction.
Phoenixbot was not known to panic though, and would likely to escape and decapitate her captive in a single movement. It was enough, though, to gain the android's attention.
PhoenixFlame
05-02-2006, 07:39 PM
*Tinktinktink* The Kunai hit true, sticking into Phoenixbot's motor joint at an oblique angle. Only one stuck, as the other two fell from the plasteel construction of Phoenixbot's arm. Still, the kunai reduced her movement servo's effectiveness by 7.98%, a respectable amount for a ninja plushie. The android noticed the tiny daggers were poisoned, but also noticed that poison did not affect androids.
Nor did ninjas, because admittantly, Giant robots were a scale higher than ninjas in the level of coolness, whom were in turn a scale higher than pirates.
Mini Mauve however, was not so fortunate. Phoenixbot's heatblade bit deeply into the plushie's neck, burning away her flesh as it severed the connection between her head and torso.
After all, Phoenixbot was in a rage. The power of love was once again defeated by the flaming hatred of fire as she had recalled doing earlier in Avatars RP.
Phoenixbot took the head of Sailor Mini-Mauve in the palm of her right hand and hurled it skyward toward the Ninja-Asheth plushie, opting rather to frighten Asheth with her shocking brutality than leap up and strike her herself.
While Mini-Mauve's body lay on the ground, quickly burning into a white ash, her head was flying up to the dome's ceiling, towards Asheth. However, Asheth simply jumped down from the her position, and met the head halfway.
Grabbing one of the pigtails in her right hand, Ninja Asheth spun it over her head a couple of times before throwing it back to the floor. The head smashed into what had been Mini-Mauve's body, kicking up a cloud of Magical Girl Plushie Ash. Landing in a crouch in the center of the cloud, Ninja Asheth picked up the fallen staff, and stood up.
Had Phoenixbot had an emotional voice or sense of humor, she might have remarked things such as, "So, Ninja Asheth, we meet again!" or perhaps, "I know your secret, Asheth! You just wanted the Sailor-staff of Mauve-love for yourself!" But alas, for Phoenixbot did not think of such comedy gold.
She merely kicked her forefoot forward, spraying a cloud of celestial dirt up toward Ninja Asheth's face while leaping forward to impale her with the tip of her Heatblade, the twinkling flames of the weapon dancing forward like a striking cobra.
With her left hand still grasping the kunai, she shielded her eyes, while her right hand parried Phoenixbot's attack to her right, in a fashion similar to what Mini-Mauve did. However, this time the plushie jumped back, hoping to avoid getting caught the same way her comrade had.
It seemed, though, that high heels were not very good to wear in combat, and when she landed the heel broke off, causing Ninja Asheth to fall backwards. While trying to regain her balance (and failing), she threw the kunai at Phoenix in attempt to force her away, before the robot could attack her in this moment of vulnerability, but the kunai flew far from the target.
Instead, it sailed over Phoenixbot's head, embedding itself in the skull of a Magical Winged Kawaii Guardian POS plushie that had just appeared to aid Ninja Asheth. For a moment, POS' eyes crossed to look at the wound, before it screamed and fainted.
PhoenixFlame
05-05-2006, 10:08 AM
As the kunai sailed over her head, Phoenixbot marched forward unpreturbed. After all, a tiny little knife like a kunai was little threat to her. The android jumped high over her foe, cartwheeling in the air over Asheth, to kick off the top of the dome, and spiral down onto the downed Ninja with impressive speed, to squash the snuggly Asheth Plushie with kinetic energy, and her feet.
Ninja Asheth didn't seem to stir, apparently knocked out by her fall. However, when Phoenixbot smashed into her the plushie exploded in a cloud of smoke and when it cleared in her place was a Pyros Plushie that looked like the stuffing had been knocked out of it (which, this time, had been the case).
Reappearing behind Phoenixbot, Asheth brought her staff down on the robot's shoulders, but the android spun around in time to slam her fist in the plushies chest, sending it flying backwards.
Like a cat, Asheth landed on her feet and immediately took a stance. Even when her opponent was caught by surprise, she still wasn't landing any blows. Now, it looked like she had no choice but to call on them.
PhoenixFlame
05-06-2006, 08:04 AM
Phoenixbot's tactical sensors calculated that she would be 73% more effective if she had a handheld ranged weapon available. However, with only the X-Buster active, and it's quantum capacitors now reaching danger levels from being supressed so long, she'd need to fire soon...
But that was for Ecurt.
Phoenixbot sprinted forward to Asheth, sliding forward to stun her once with the tip of her heatblade so she could initiate a series of attacks to finish off the ninja.
Asheth readied herself, but was caught by surprise when she slid. Deciding that she should step to the side, her other heel broke and she fell again. Unable to escape the attack in time, Asheth closed her eyes and waited for death to come.
Instead, Monk Raiden and Samurai Mesden had appeared, to intercept the attack for Asheth.
(OOC: Feel free to make them act any way you wish, Phoenix, even up to death)
While Asheth fell aside, Phoenixbot's attack pattern alpha would no longer follow through correctly, for the combo was rather specific in how it required the target to be standing. And while Monk Raiden and Samurai Mesden joined the fray, Phoenixbot was unable to abort and finish her off traditionally. Apparrently, heels breaking off at opportune moments was another form of ninja-dodge.
So she did the next best thing, because after all, the PX-R unit was originally designed to destroy Raiden.
Stepping in and shifting underhand to poke Raiden's chest with the tip of her heatblade, the Android's flameweapon slipped under the monk-plushie's guard. Samurai Mesden hit Phoenixbot across the back with her katana, but the weapon's formidible japanese razorblade-construction caused the weapon to chip on contact with the metal trauma-plate on the rear of Phoenixbot's combat suit.
As the Monk-Raiden plushie staggered backwards a step, Phoenixbot did not permit him a moment to recover. Flipping backwards, the android caught Raiden with the heels of her feet, and, coupled with her formidible strength and the lightening effect of the monoliths, launched the Raiden plushie skyward.
Samurai Mesden stepped forward to thrust her katana at Phoenixbot, but she hit air as the android lept gracefully skyward after the still-ascending Raiden. Meanwhile Ninja Asheth, who now lacked heels on her shoes, was having difficulty righting herself from her prone position.
With her quantum-computer's superior clockwork and an expertly timed jump, Phoenixbot matched the height of Monk-Raiden's launch, whom was desperately attempting to figure out ways to use his formidible kung-fu in midair. Tossing a lightning-sutra at the offending android, the monk tumbled into an upright aerial position, and assumed his "Auspicious Flying Crane Stands on Oxygen" stance.
But it was too late. Phoenixbot's hip joints ground to their maximum rotation, several hundred degrees in excess of a normal human's, as she brought her heatblade in a diagonal six-hundred and fourty degree aerial-slash, cutting through both Monk-Raiden's sutra, and the man's chest, sending him plummeting toward Samurai-Mesden, who's katana was held ready to impale Phoenixbot on the way down...
Phoenixbot had underestimated her own strength though, and Monk-Raiden split in two in mid air. The two halves landed on opposite sides of Samurai Mesden, who barely batted an eye as she waited for Phoenixbot to fall.
Phoenix, still spinning from her last attack on Raiden, brought her legs together and straightened her entire body, appearing to be attempting another corkscrew spin. Mesden adjusted her stance to counter it and gathered her strength, intending on cutting the android in twain before it's attack could reach her body. However, Phoenixbot's legs suddenly seperated and, twisting in a way only she could, she kicked the blade away from Mesden's hands with one foot and, still in her high-speed spin, followed up by tearing the plushie's head with the other.
Landing in a crouched position with one hand on the ground, Phoenixbot searching for signs of Asheth, who seemed to have gotten away. Unable to detect any signs of the plushie, she instead found Ecurt, who had finally come out of hiding.
The trenchcoat was gone, tossed aside in favor of more maneuverability, though Ecurt had seemed to pick up another new toy-the Maiden's Staff of Mauve-Love™, which he raised above his head. The pink staff began to vibrate, and the orb at the tip began to give off a bright azure light. Suddenly, plushie copies of every NPFer began to appear around him and her, each cosplaying as a different kind of class with a different kind of weapon ready to be wielded against Phoenix.
Pointing at Phoenix with his free hand, he grinned and gave one command. "Attack!"
Suddenly, Ninja Asheth dropped down from the sky, intending to latch on Phoenix and self destruct. Others began to charge in, intending to rush Phoenix with their numbers. At the same time, Ecurt leaned his back against one of the obelisks; already drained of most of his energy, he couldn't afford to waste much more.
"Quantum capacitors charged at 128%. WARNING. DANGER LEVEL."
Phoenixbot's already crimson hud blinked red as her systems alerted her that the X-Buster had, in all of the time spent charging, exceeded it's maximum charge. Thus, she had to fire soon, or risk exploding in a massive, climactic fusion burst...
Ninja Asheth wasn't helping much either.
Phoenixbot rolled to the left, crouching on one knee, and channeled the excess 28% charge into her secret weapon. The Mashirosen Assault Array (MAA). A pair of speaker-like protrusions popped up from her torso, and all upon the battlefield were momentarially stunned by the explosions of sound. Ninja Asheth fell to the ground, paralyzed with fear.
Phoenixbot's targeting reticle fell over Ecurt's position, now screened by several plushies.
"Maximum Penetration Choker Set."
The field containing the X-Buster's ambient energy charge tore away with a bright white pulse, as the weapon's panels began to spin once more in opposite directions, pulling back as the forward needle shot forward another food, making the weapon an isosceles triangular pyramid of laser energy.
With a deafening crack that pierced even the sounds of the mashirosen array, the X-Buster's mighty energy charge issued forth in a radiant needle-fine pulse of pure alabaster energy. The bolt streaked toward Ecurt and his plushie army with the force of a capital ship beam-cannon.
It's time for the long awaited, and totally not ever forgotten, finale!
The body took action on its own, the mind too paralyzed with fear to give a command. Rising from his position, he slammed the staff into the ground and placing the gem into the path of the beam. Then, only now realizing what he had done, he dropped to the ground and grasped the staff firmly with both hands.
The orb became translucent, and as the light passed through its body it separated into different colors of the spectrum. Behind Ecurt, the beams cut effortlessly through the dome's wall. Suddenly, pieces of the orb began to crack and fall away, changing the path of the beams. Even though Phoenix's laser stopped before part of the dome was sliced away, what remained of the structure was weak. It only took an instant for the pieces to be ripped off by the vacuum of space, and soon everything inside was threatened to be sucked into the empty void.
Phoenixbot didn't try to fight it, instead using it to gain momentum as she flew towards Ecurt, who had managed to hold onto the staff still lodged in the ground. However, he took one look at her and let go, deciding to take his chances in space.
The next thing he knew, he was suddenly standing next to Rhiya and Raiden (and, apparently, the real Phoenix), who had been watching the fight from this vantage point. For a moment, he blinked in confusion, before realizing that the battle was over and he was still (sorta) alive.
Then, after taking a deep breath of nothing, he hugged the Phoenix for not killing him, right before she shoved the Blade of Endings in his face for touching.
Which, being as she was a glamoured illusion rather than the real Maiden of Endings, did nothing to Ecurt. The purple and silver blade passed through him harmlessly, before disappearing into nothingness.
"I am not amused by your performance." The raksha replied sternly, before dematerializing.
Phoenixbot, however, floated idly in the depths of space, in low-power mode after the massive energy consumption of utilizing all three of her primary systems at once. A large Manta-Class Troop Transport swooped by and scooped up the semi-concious android, before zooming off.
