I haven't heard much about Eureka Seven, but I did watch it when it premiered on Adult Swim saturday. I can't give too much of a verdict about it yet, but I think it's ok. Looks like a mix of Gundam and Tony Hawk though... odd combination.
What are your thoughts?

Eureka Seven is awesome. It has alot in common with FLCL and Gundam. Keep watching it, it gets better.

It has alot in common with FLCLLike the main character being a kid who looks just like Naota, is displeased with his ordinary life, is always complaining that nothing happens, and is drawn into a series of wacky events due to having the hots for a cute girl who happens to also be a criminal?
It looks alright, though... even if the main character is just Naota sans profoundness.

well isn't eureka a german word, I believe meaning I got it, and if so they they aren't pronouncing it correctly.
Anyways, is it just mean or is that one guy voiced by the same person that did Visious (crap I cant spell) from Bebop?

I think it's Greek, actually. Also I watched Eureka and aside from the protagonist's excessive use of the word sucks, I think it's pretty awesome.

Actually, since I've never seen FLCL and only heard about it, I thought Eureka Seven was FLCL.
I really like this anime. I think it is kinda cute. It interests me so far.

What's my verdict, you ask?
Giant Robots+Giant Flying Surfboards=Good Times.

Aside from the aformentioned protagonists agonizing over his current and very boring situation in life, and Eureka's very Haruko-esque dropping in, the show has VERY little to do with FLCL. Heck, those two qualities are things which appear a lot in anime and manga. FLCL just seems to be the most recent in most American fan's eyes I suppose.
Also, although I believe the mechs in Eureka 7 were designed by someone on the Gundam team, they actually more resemble those from Rahxephon, a series which was also created by Studio BONES.
As for the series itself, I find it interesting but it's still a curiousity to me. I'm a bit frustrated about the lack of exposition concerning the world in which it takes place, but I'm patient, and I like the show so far.

It also has that cool transforming robot thing, which is always cool
With Eureka, am I the only that keeps thinking "chicks dig giant robots"
