Betrayal at House on the Hill 2

[Squishy Cheeks]

The heavy oak doors slam shut with a deafening bang, followed by the sound of bolts falling into place. The gas lights in the entrance hall flicker to life with a muffled sound of ignition the chain lighting of the lights moves down the sconces int the Foyer and onto the grand staircase. A wind howls outside, it is a sound that chills you to your soul. Your heart pounds in you chest. There are others here with you, some you recognize others you don't. there is but one choice. If you are to leave this house alive it won't be through the front door.

The loud thunder outside sounds like bombs as the strikes are so close there is almost no time between the streaks of lightning and the boom. the house shakes from the sound. You can hear the pounding rain hit the roof and windows.

[GARUD]

"Hmm... well, I think we are in a bit of a pickle here chaps. What are our options?"

The man who spoke was elderly, in his fifties. He was rather old but had the sophisticated look about him. Professor Longfellow turned to the oddly assorted group.

"Which way do we go?"

[Bailey]

Jenny, a college age student, put her right hand alongside her chin on the left side. In her left hand she had a notepad and a pen, and these she slapped against her leg while she thought. "I don't know teach, but somebody seems to want us to go up the stairs, so I'm going to try that." As she moved towards the steps, she scribbled into her notepad |Door slammed. Lights moved.|

She reviewed what she had already written about how she had gotten there, and nodded to herself. This could make a decent story for the paper when she got back to school. And if it turned out to be dissapointing, she could just embellish a little and submit it for the fiction section.

Darrin, having been dared into going into this old house, thought this was all some sort of joke being played by his friends. He thought the other people were just in here by chance, and maybe they were, but it just didn't sit right with him.

Following Jenny, Darrin went up the stairs to see what was up there.

[Squishy Cheeks]

To the left and the right of the entrance hall there are two doors, which is covered in dust. There are two marble busts on the right who seem to look at the door on that wall. the door is unremarkable as is the one across from it. A dingy red carpet runs rom the marble tiled entrance to the stair case. The doors in the foyer look like the ones in the entrance hall. on the right a grandfather clock ticks and tocks. The stairs are made of mahogony giving them an almost bloody appearance The lead up to the upper landing. The hard wood floor is cracked and groans under your weight you see places where the boards have broken. There are four doors, on in each of the four walls. A broken mirror lies in one corner.

[Bailey]

Jenny spotted the mirror and walked over to it, tilting her head and writing down |Broken mirror. Why?| Before taking the westernmost door.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Jenny enters the research Laboratory. She flips the light switch and the flourescent lights blink on . the room is filthy and in dissarray. Broken test tubes and lab equipment everywhere. There are shelves of scientific publications and journals. Many are strewn on the floor with pages torn out.

the lights flicker and dim. Suddenly all the light in the house goes out at once. You all reach for your flashlights. However Jenny is stuck in the dark. her flashlight's bulb has burst. Jenny stands alone in the dark.

[Bailey]

Jenny closed her eyes. Since she couldn't see anyway, this didn't do much, but it let her pretend that the lights weren't out. She took a couple of deep breaths until she was sure she was calm before she shouted out "Hey! Any of you guys mind if I stick with you!? My flashlight isn't working, and I'm hoping one of you doesn't mind sharing!"

[Mesden]

Vivain was confused. Very confused. SHe had no idea how she came into this house and had no intention on staying.

The others decisive actions seemed the right choice, so she followed them.

Ok. We know nothing about this place. How do we even know that leads out? Alright. Check the other doors.

She saw were the others went and decided to take her own path. She took on the right side.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The gallery is dark and you see a balcony There is an over turned shelf and a broken bust of some philosopher. An antique coach sits by the balcony over looking the ballroom below. There is a crystal ball on the floor. The clouds in the crystal seem to move in the light of your flashlight.

[Mesden]

"Now what could this be?"

The strange clouds and alterations in the ball struck her curiousity hard. Without much hesitation, she walked over to the ball and picked it up.

[GARUD]

"Guess there is no helping it. Looks like it is divide and conquer."

The professor went toward the door on the left side and attempted to open it.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Not looking where he stepped, the proffessor took a one way slide to the basement. He lands in a pile of coal. A black cloud of coal dust fills the air. the door to the coal chute slams shut behind him.

[GARUD]

Longfellow was shockd by thw whole procedure of falling into a hole.

"By golly, this is a new suit! There are coal stains all over it."

The professor got to his feet shakily, and looked around.

"Where in the name of Cleopatra's tomb am I?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

The room now has little bricks of coal strewn about the floor. the walls are drab and grey. There are four doors one in each wall. You hear the sound of dripping water. You look up and see pipes running up into the house. Rust colored water drips into a red puddle.

[GARUD]

"My, what a gloomy place... so dark, devoid of life."

The professor looked around curiously and decided on his route. He travelled to the east door and attempted to enter the room.

OOC: Just to avoid confusion of why I'm not helping, this is before Newb's post.

IC: Looking at the eastmost door at the top of the stairs, Darring made his way over and opened it up.

Scanning the inside with his flashlight, Darrin stepped in.

Darrin enter a gymnasium the room is full of antiquated exercise equipment, there hoever appears to be a ouija board on the ground covered in dust. He feels strangely drawn to it.

Proffessor longfellow entered the organ room. A large pipe organ dominates the far wall. there are several pews. He however didn't notice the decending spider the size of his fist. The spider lands on his head and bites his hand when he swats it. The wound burns with venom. The spider scurries off into the darkness.

Peter walked over to Jenny, noticing her distress. "Sure I don't mind sharing my flashlight with you."

[GARUD]

Longfellow clutched his hand.

"Son of a... my what an organ."

The professor looked at the organ with amazement. He walked over to it and examined it. Looking around he said to himself,

"Is this some kind of church or something? Fascinating..."

He walked around examining as much of the rooms features as possible.

There is disguised door on the left of the organ. Only the door handle gives away it's presence.

Vivian sees a lonely door at the other end of the gallery.

There is a door on the right of the gym leading into another room.

With the help of peter's flashlight Jenny and Peter see a door at the end of the laboratory. The door is slightly ajar.

[Mesden]

"Now, where could this lead." Vivian murmured to herself as she tucked the crystal ball under her right arm.

With a little struggle because of her occupied hands, she pulled open the door.

[GARUD]

"Well, well. What have we here?"

Professor Longfellow walked over toward the doorknob. It was barely visible, as there was no visible door. It was strange, and a bit out of the ordinary.

"Might as well see to where it leads."

And with that, the elderly man reached for the doorknob.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Progessor Longfellow entered a larder, A barrel of wine almost stops the door. There are crates of grain. Sacks of dry goods. on the shelvbes are jars of preserves. and a breass key with a skull motif on it. There is a door on the other side of the room.

Vivian steps into the room the boards groan and crack She jumps to the wall as the floor in the center of the room falls away, it smashes through a room below and crashes finally into the basement. There is a ring of broken floor boards around the outside, and four doors, on on each wall.

Darrin, not quite knowing what to expect from one of these stupid old things, felt that he should at least go over and see what this thing was all about.

Walking over and wiping the dust off of the ouji board, Darrin watched to see what might happen.

[GARUD]

Professor Lonfellow spots the key on the shelf and picks it up.

"What a curious object... may be valuable."

The professor looks around the room. He wonders where to go.

[Bailey]

"Now what could be through there?"

Jenny swings the door open, but doesn't step through, not wanting to stray too far from her only source of light.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The room beyond is an old fashioned elevator. The elevator is decorated with strange signs and symbols and what appears to be latin. there is a switch near the door that appears to have spikes on it. It looks like you'd have to hurt yourself to turn it on.

(ooc: you have found the mystic elevator.)

[Mesden]

"HOLY HELL!" Vivian yelled as she barely made the jump.

She looked back and forth at each of the doors. She took the one that was closest to her, the one on the right.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Vivian entered a blackened and charred room. in the center of the room is a skull. It appears human with some weird symbols and runes on it. She picks up the skull and screams. runes and circles marked in symbols flare with unholy light. Vivian shudders and drops to the floor. Blood and foam spill from her open mouth. Then your friends's body splits in two, as if a giant zipper opened from head to toe.
Thw worm Ouroborus, the great snake that circles the world, has come. It cries a defening cry that is joined by it's other head, it grows rapidly.filling the room.

[lazy man]

Darrin, upon uncovering the ouji board, kidn of heard a small voice in his head.

"Go to the bedroom. You'll find something there."

Kind of puzzled, Darrin left the gym without a clue and walked into the next room from the one he had been in. As it turned out it was the bedroom. Now just what was going to hapen was Darrin's question.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The bedroom shakes as the worm shifts. Suddenly Darrin has visions of being trapped in a coffin. The visions pass and he feels suddenly clear of doubt. (+1 sanity) There is a door on the other side of the room.

Peter heard the unearthly scream coming from down the hall.

He looked over to Jenny. "I'm going to go investigate that. If you don't want to come with, you can take my lighter to give you at least some illumination."

He tossed her the lighter and opened the door across from the elevator into the next room. Back on the landing, he noticed a door nobody took (as far as he knew) to his right. Shrugging, he opened it.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Peter entered the attic. The room is warm. The walls appear to be pulsing. The walls appear to be made of flesh. the pulse of the houses heart matches the rhtym of peters. Peter toches the wall and finds himself drawn inside...


peter emerges again from the wall in the basement. The room is a storeroom lined all kinds of storage. Peters hand is resting on an ancient medalion. While holding the medalion he feels so much stronger.

(aquired the amulet of the ages +1 speed +1 might +1 sanity +1 knowledge)

Darrin, while freaked out, felt calmer. Maybe knowing he might die brought a sort of ease to his mind. Whatever the case, whatever had screamed and shaken up the room had something to do with that vision.

So, not wanting to find out what that was, Darrin took the other door and looked at what he'd just opened up.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Darrin moves through the cobwebs into the master bedroom. The four poster bed is decorated with veils. The feils billow in the wind. Theroom is wrecked. Sobwebs dominate the room. there is a door on the left, but it won't open, its as if somethings blocking it on the other side.

(Garud? want to turn on the mystic elevator and see where it takes you?)

[GARUD]

(OOC: Don't mind if I do. Didn't realise I was the one in it.)

Professor Longfellow shrugged at the sight of the elevator, and decided to use it, seeing where it could take him.

"Here goes nothing."

Darrin sighed after givign up on the jammed door. No doubt the others who had started with him had gone to some other part of the house by now, so he put it out of his mind to try and catch up with them.

So, without many other options, Darrin opted to go back downstairs. Going down the steps and down the hall, he saw one of the doors was already opened, but didn't exactly lead to anything good. So, he went to the door on the other side of the hall and opened it up, shining his flashlight inside to see what was there.

OOC: If there isn't another door on the first floor, I'll edit this to go join another player or something.

Proffesor longfellow entered into store room, seeing Brendon there.

Darrin entered the game room when the floor opened up and he found himself on a one way slide into the furnace room. He colided with the boiler and finding fis finger on a ring.

[Mesden]

Must, grow. her only thought now. Must, move. The giant wyrm slivered its head into the collapsed room and continued to move down.

Keep growing. Must...Grow.

The beast found itself in the basement where a large pentagraph was marked, but it didn't care. The creature forced itself through another door to find itself in the basement landing.

OOC: slight note, I'm Peter not Brandon. Brandon was the one i coldcocked off the head in the last one.

BIC: Peter saw Professor Longfellow enter the room. He looked at the amulet, and pocketed it as he ran up to the professor.

"Professor, we've got a problem." he held out the amulet for a brief second before pocketing it again. "I just found this...in some way it told me that one of us has already become this hideous gigantic 2 headed snake that is going to keep growing and devour us all unless we find the skull that was originally touched by the unfornate bastard that became the snake.

Then there was a horrible crashing noise and splintering of wood ahead of them.

"I think that was just the snake crashing into the basement and probably sealing us off...this is not going to bode too well for us, Professor."

[GARUD]

"Woah slow down boy we..."

Professor Longfellow got cut off by the sound of an crash.

"Okay, you convinced me. Now, how do we kill this thing?"

[lazy man]

Darrin, shaking his head as he got up, looked at the ring in his hand. It didn't look like anything special, so he just slipped it onto his finger for no apparent reason.

And then he heard a huge crash. It could only be that huge thing that had caused the noise upstairs. Darrin, feeling cornered, felt that he should at least try a door and see if he were greeted with something a little less frightening than a giant thing.

Risking his luck, he opened the first door he saw and looked through with his flashlight.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The room was a creaky old hallway that ends in a fork only two doors.

Darrin headed down the hallway, the floorboards creaking with every step he took. Kinda creepy, but nothing compared to that crash he'd heard earlier.

Stepping up to the doors, Darrin decided to go through the right hand door. Hopefully it could get him away from that thing.

[Mesden]

I...I hear something...

The massive head of the worm broke through the dorr to its left only to see no one there.

Someone is here. Someone was here. Must...

Darrin could hear the crash going on behind him and then another violent crash, the ouroboros worm was right behind him.

[Squishy Cheeks]

((Sorry about that. I would have posted earlier today but my track meet took longer than I thought it would.))

Jenny looked at the lever and shook her head. She used the lighter to go back through the research lab and into the main hallway. She glanced around and walked into the gallery. She would have written down some notes, but since her only source of light was fire, she wasn't sure how smart this would be.

[lazy man]

Darrin, with his hand on the knob of the right hand door, turned around to see the ouroboros slithering its way down the hall. Wide-eyed, he turned back, opened the door as fast as possible, ran through to the next room, and slammed the door behind him. It was pretty pointless considering the size of that thing, but it was something.

Shining his flashlight into this new room, he tried to look for a door or something else that might help him escape this thing.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The crypt is dark and smells of rotting corpses. no this is more this is the stench of death, the smell of a carnal slaughterhouse. There are no doors only graves. This is a dead end. Darrin retches violently from the smell.

Peter began looking around for a possible staircase. "Follow me, professor," he said as he headed down through two rooms and taking a right. He found that the room was taken up by the Ororburous's body, stepping carefully past/around/over the massive worm's length, he looked to the right and found a door.

Hope this is the stairs, he thought as he opened the door.

[Squishy Cheeks]

He found a flight of stairs leading up to the Foyer.

[Mesden]

The man in the crypt could hear the giant body squirming behind him. With a massive burst the head of the beast pushed through the old door.

The head reared back and struck out towards the trapped man.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The Darrin slipped easily down it's throat as it swallowed him whole.

(R.I.P. Lazyman)

[GARUD]

Professor Longfellow moved through to the organ room, but stopped short of the Oborous body.

"Hmm, I hope I can make it to the stairs."

The professor moved into the next room, trying to get around the oborous body.

(OOC: Hope I have not exceeded the movement limit.)

Jenny opened the next door in the line.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The collapsed room has a large snake body undulating and slithering downward through the gaping whole. Ahead is an open door where the immense snake comes from to the left and right are un opened doors.

[Mesden]

The opened door from were the snake protruded was filled even more by another head twisting around to escape.

It's eyes locked onto the intruder and it quickly attacked.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The bite was swift but hardly fatal. The ouroboros throws Jenny against the wall as she keeps it from biting her to hard.

[GARUD]

Professor longefellow moved around the orouborous body (2 movements), and up the stairs, into the room Peter was occupiing. His old man heart was racing with anticipation.

(I think thats all 4 movements.)

Trying to figure out how to get closer to his goal, Peter tried a door that looked like it hadn't been touched by anyone during the search.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Peter opens the door to the ball room. The ballroom is empty save for a large wardrobe style closet. Peter opens it cautiously finding a suit of armor.

(ooc: Wolf aquires the armor)

Jenny quickly opened the door to the right from where she entered, slamming it behind her before looking around.

Jenny edged around the undulating body, seeking to follow it into the room beyond, ready to bolt at the first sign that she was moving towards the head rather than the tail.

The room is filled with junk.
"The Ouroboros is coming." A little girl says coming out of a pile of junk.

The other doors are blocked by junk and a pile of junk falls into place blocking the other door.

[Mesden]

As soon as she dashed into the other room, the door bursted out from behind her.

The eyes of the great beast locked onto Jenny, hungry and ready to strike.

[GARUD]

Longfellow looked around the room, and wondered where to go next. He looked for any unopened doors.

[Squishy Cheeks]

There is an unopened door on the right of entrance hall.

[Mesden]

Entrapped in a giant room of junk and having a massive snake head in the room with you proves to be a bad thing.

The massive head reared back and struck at Jenny. She had luckily moved out of the way, but one more strike and the snake's mouth engulfed her.

(R.I.P Newb. And Jad told me my second attack got you. So no worries on the fact I killed you, I hope.)

Professor lonfellow headed to the unopened door and opened it. Inside was...

decaying gardens with a ghastly scene. The skeletons of an adult and a child embracing. The recent deaths of your friends are not the houses only victims.
