...f*ck? Yeah I know. I wake up early in the morning when AS is still on(about 3 A.M) and watch whatever's on. Then I saw Gigantor for the first time. Then I never saw it again. It was like the dialogue from speed racer, but with giant robots. It seemed funny at first, but then turned into horrible.

... hold it, that goes for Tex Avery cartoons too. If you claim those suck, I must ask you to step out the door with me.
(Wikipedia says 1958 by the way.)

my point is the show is ancient. However looking at it, it looks like the show was dubbed decades ago. If thats true then...well actually isn't that hard to believe we would be importing shows back then

They've been showing Gigantor on early in the morning for quite a while. And let's cut it some slack. It used to be one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Then again, that was way back before Kindergarten.
GIIIIGAAANTOOOOOR, GIIIIGAAANTOOOOOR!

"BIGGER THEN BIG! STRONGER THEN STRONG! GIGANTOR! GIIIIIIIGGGGGAAAAANNNTOOORR!" Then he gets stepped on by Godzilla. End of GIIIIGAAAANNNNTOOOORRRR. ...."Quicker then quick, taller then tall!"

You guys are making me feel lucky for never watching that cartoon. o.O
Is it THAT bad? ._.
Burkion
02-01-2006, 08:43 PM
...must I sing it again?
"QUicker then quick, stronger then strong, smarter then smart, taller then tall! He's Gigaaaaaaaaaaaantooooor! Giiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggaaaaaaaaannnnnnntoooooooooo oorrr!!! Gigantor the Space Age Robot! Gggggggggiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnn tttttttooooooooorrrrrrrr, Giiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnttttt tttttooooooooorrrrrrrrr!" And that's just the FIRST few minutes. Basically, you know Mystery Seince Theater? They would have commited suicide.

At this rate, I will commit suicide... x_x'
(Note to self: stay as far as humanly possible from anything related to "Gigantor")

Oh, I left out some things about how he's stronger and stuff. Want me to recite the entire thing? Or reveal that he's controlled by a little boy in SHORT SHORTS with a big honkin controller?

See? I do have a special ability! I can say things that are meaningful in the future! XD
I just can't believe they replaced effing CASE CLOSED, one of the best cartoons I have ever seen, with this. Like I said, the best ever. Ever. Evaaaaaaaaar.

You think Dragon Sex rules? Well, to each their own I guess. Whatever gets you going.
Anyway, Gigantor was an alright anime. I think it has some strange importance to it. It might have been the first imported anime, I think. I don't know. I'll go Wikipedia it.

No Raiden...just no. I dont care if what anyone says I refuse to consider Gigantor an anime. the old superman cartoons (I mean the ones from the 50s) were as much of an anime as Gigantor.
Far as I am concerned the earliest animes came out in the 70s and didn't get good untill DB

But... I like my life... please don't do this to me, at least not yet. ;_;

Ah, I love my life. It seems being hardened into a heartless, emotionless husk has paid off! BWHAHAHA!
"Gigantor! Giggggaaaannntooorr! Gigantor, the space age robot! Giiiigggggaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnaaaattttooooorrrr!!!(Re peat three times) Bigger then big, stronger then strong! He's Gigantor! Quicker then Quick, taller then tall! He's Gigggaaaannntooorrr!!!"
And he's controlled by an eriie little boy who's watched over by a creepy police cheif and a scientist. And by short shorts, I mean SHORT!

Oh God, was that what that was? I thought I was having a horrible, horrible nightmare.
It was like watching a train crash that's 3 feet from your location. It's horrible, and you can't stand it, but you just can't look away, no matter how much debris sets itself into your body.
God, I miss Case Closed.

No wait - I think he just shit-talked Bugs Bunny.

ACK, see what you guys have done! I had to run after my brain for 40 minutes around the house to get it back in place. -.- (I can't blame it for being forced to make a desperate attempt of escape for survival, though.)

Man they show that now?! I remember watching that show at 4:00 every weekday morning on the Sci-Fi channel back when they were the first station I knew had any anime.
They would play the good stuff on the weekends (movies like Fatal Fury, Galaxy Express, etc), right after the Saturday morning cartoon block.
Strange I always thought they said Giganto though, must watch show again to check.

You were just describing it, of course.
Oh, wait. That was about Gigantor. My mistake; the two are equally shameful.
Of course, all things considered, Gigantor isn't that different from Speed Racer or Lupin the Third, other more recent but also hoky shows.

*Remembers when they showed the shorts of Gigantor way back when CN did the Toonami Mecha Week marathon thing.* I thought the dubbing on that was about the most god-awful thing ever. And I didn't really pick up much on plot, as it seems that it was the same thing over and over.
Makes me glad I'm at sea right now. And that I don't really watch that much TV nowadays....

I think we owe it to ourselves to watch Gigantor it's kinda like just because the Crusades were unpleasant doesn't mean we can just pretend it didn't ever happen... besides that I watched one episode of it and I couldn't get up off my back from laughing for what seemed like an hour after the show
