You must have a very skewed view of our work here. Why would he? That's really friggin' awesome. I love how Black Mage is about half as tall as the others - I'm sure it's because it's that way in the game, but it gives his character a certain something. Great job!

This should be like the Flash movies; make some more and let us know. I know I would like to see 8-Bit like this. The whole series... :)

This comic was made using the FFXI character model viewer and adobe photoshop. I'd like to think the characters are about as close to the 8-bit counterparts as they can get (without serious photoshopping which would take forever). I have also created the models for blackbelt and white mage.

I plan on just dropping in some of my favorite episodes for kicks. It sorta doesn't make sense to redo Brians entire comic- it's his after all. I just thought this might be a fun way to actually show some of the body expressions I imagine the sprites having as well as seeing a situation in a more realistic light. I can post future episodes in the arts forum. Depends on the decision of the mods. Personally, as an 8-bit fan, i hang out in the 8-bit section, so I figure this will get the most attention to die hard fans.

Incidentally, the Fighter's throwing-his-hands-up-in-the-air expression you use in panel 4 looks more confused, I always think of the sprite as hyperactive and excitable. Could just be a matter of interpretation though. Aside from that they all look pretty right-on.

Hey, PCD, not that I really need this seeing as I can't do anything artsy whether it be computer generated or not, but how exactly did you make those cuts in the ordeal... I imagine that took a while. Or I'm just too ignorant to jduge such things and it took no time at all XD
The cuts themselves were pretty easy... I just looked at where Brian put them in the actual comic, then put in the crescent-slashy shapes where appropriate. Now the blood splattering and fighter-blurring, that took some time.

I've also just made one, but the party is different from the "Fighter, Thief, Black Mage, Red Mage" group. Instead, it is Fighter, Red Mage, Blue Mage and Hunter. Oh, and Fighter has an average I.Q. (In this sprite comic, anyway.)
