Since This VS That is a banned topic, why not make a forum dedicated to that instead? I have this Dragon Mango (http://www.dragon-mango.com/) vs 8-Bit Theater idea, but I cannot use it because its a banned suject.
Can there be a speacial forum for battles? If not, thats ok, but it would be cool if there were.
One more thing, the "Big Grin" smiley only apears as an X at my end. Is this one my part, or are other people seeing this too?

A forum for versus threads is a bit much. And when it was considered before, it was dismissed for two reasons (That I remember).
1) Not 8-Bit related (Unless there are only 8-Bit fights)
2) Eventually, ideas would run out (Though, there were several thousand posts in the versus threads before they were permanently closed)
A stickied, general versus thread would be more reasonable though. We had them before, people liked them. The Pirates vs. Ninja thread did well. And it's been over half a year since it was closed, so I'm sure people have plently of ideas for battles.

Pirates vs. Ninjas...
Did a guy by the name of Wombat-Slayer ever post here by chance?
About 1) and 2)...
1) What dose that have to do with anything? There are tons of non-8 bit stuff around here.
2) Good point. People would run out of ideas.
As for a sticky, idk. The thing I have planned kindof requires a seperate thread, but it dose sound good. It could be changes every month to a differant theme!

Because we got tired of them. The joke's funny for about one conversation, really.
Here, here's the essence of every versus thread ever:

If the other mods think we should have another limited series of versus threads, that's fine, but my vote's no.

As for Moderators vs vs Threads, I think moderators emerge victorious. I think it's unnecessary. As undeniably interested as I am in knowing who would win in a battle between Odin and a slice of pizza (with, get this, ANCHOVIES. And laser beams for legs), I think that train has run its course straight into the Pacific.

Awe man! Thats 3 that said no already.
Is it ok if I put a link to my forums which has a versus forum? I mean, it may be banned here but not on my forums.

The Off-Topic forum is unnecessary. Which would be a good place for a versus thread.

You have a very low opinion of versus threads. For the most part, those types of battles weren't discussed. It was mostly 'serious' fights (Or challenges) between X and Y (And sometimes Z, A, B, etc)
The joke's funny for about one conversation, really.
A lot of the stuff in the Off-Topic thread are jokes that get old quick. And usually those jokes battles only last for a few posts, then some one brings up an actual battle to be debated.

I also vote no cause regardless of whatever serious content there sometimes is, there's just as much if not more utterly useless crap.

Dude, isn't the off-topic thread the "Spam Thread"? That wouldn't be fair to put the battles there.
Not that it matters. 4 of the mods have already come out and said "No" and I bet all the others share that opinion.

No, it's not the Spam Thread. But it is the "Not So Serious Topics" thread. It says so clearly in the rules of that forum. It doesn't mean that you can go there and type "j00 sux0rz!" as a reply to every thread, but it does mean that you can joke around about a topic, as long as you're on topic. It's easier to explain in practice, but basically, no spam, but we're a bit looser on defining spam there. So perhaps we can move the line defining spam so that Vs. Threads are on the good side of it.
And I think it would be nice, even if I don't partake in vs. threads, really.

What about serious VS threads? Not all of them have any stupid "Pizza with laser beams for legs and anchovies".
If we were to allow them to be in the Off-Topic thread and ONLy in the Off-topic thread, than no one could post anything serious! We would be breaking forum rules!
Anyway, is it ok if I post a link to my site were VS threads are allowed?

Not all of them have that, yes, but they'd quickly get that way. Just look at how long it took for "plaid vs. flannel" to pop up when someone made the Ninja vs. Pirates thread. Mere hours.
Feel free to post that link in your sig or the blog thread, though. No problem. If I remember it when the next vs. thread comes around, I could add that link to the inevitable "arrghleble closing" post, too, if you want.
